The only thing seems to be that the message dialogs show the wrong message at the top.

Here is a link to a debug log of me creating a new file launcher named "test" using mednafen and then populating it with items and finally launching the ROM "Altered Beast":

As I said, everything is working correctly, but the message dialogs all seem to show "Select new share" instead of "Select program", "Select fanart" etc.
Ho... Ok. I was able to reproduce the problem. I will try to investigate. It appear only under Frodo (but not under Eden). I will try to see if it is due to a Frodo bug or a new way to proceed under Frodo. Thank you for the feedback.

I just recently had to reinstall my system but I kept the thumbs and fanart from the previous time in the same folder. Those folders are set as the default folders for thumbs and fanart but this time when I scan for games, it picks up all the games but doesn't associate the thumbs or fanart with the games?

The only way I have found to re-associate the local thumbs and fanart with the games is to do it to each one individually which would take forever. The only other thing I can think of is to delete all the images and do the full scan again and just wait.

Any help?
You need to activate the "Local Images" option for the Collecting method entry under Thumbs and Fanart settings as follow :

Image

Using this option, when you will make a new scan, Advanced Launcher will automatically associate the thumb and fanart images corresponding to each items (based on the thumbs and fanart path you have indicated into the launcher). If you already have scrapped all the item info and do not want to do it again what I suggest you for each launcher is to :
  • Select you launcher, go into Edit Launcher / Manage Items List and Export Items Data to .nfo files. It will save all the item scraped information into individual .nfo files.
  • Then, go into Edit Launcher / Manage Items List and Clear the item list.
  • Then, go into Addon settings / Data & Infos and set collecting method to NFO Files.
  • Next, into Addon settings / Thumbs, set collecting method to Local Files.
  • In the same way, into Addon settings / Fanarts, set collecting method to Local Files.
  • Finally select you launcher, go into Add Items option an Scan for new items.
It will locally rescrap all the game information based on NFO files and local images files.

According to the link you give me, you just have to modify your .bat script like this and it may work :

Code:
pskill -t XBMC.exe
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Game Booster\"
gbtray.exe -quicklauncher "%1"
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\"
start /max XBMC.exe

Then modify the your launcher :

Application : your .bat script
Files extension : exe
Arguments : "%rom%"

@Angelscry
Thnx but something I do wrong...
When I put Files extension lnk - gamebooster start, game start but XBMC does not close
When I put Files extension .exe - XBMC close but gamebooster and game does not start
What I do wrong?
I would like to start this post by following the guidelines;

Windows Version: Windows 7 (SP 1)
CPU: Celeron Dual Core T3000 @ 1.8GHz
Architecture: 64 Bit
RAM: 4GB 1300MHz
Video Card: Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family, Dedicated 64MB (I know I know, laptop)
Other hardware involved: 64" Samsung LEDTV (Primary display)

XBMC Revision: 11.0 Eden
XBMC LOG: http://pastebin.com/v8wgJmy0

Ok, my problem relates to using ScummVM effectively using Advanced Launcher. I will outline my issues as separate numbered paragraphs.

1.Loading games effectively.
My first problem relates to the issue with ScummVM games being in multiple parts. For example, for Discworld I have placed all the files for my game in one folder, and created a fake file called dw.1c. I have then told my launcher to look for 1c extensions in order to find the folder for cataloguing, and used the argument '-f %romname%' to prevent the extension being used. However, ScummVM states it cannot find the game data, and takes me to the main ScummVM page for me to have to choose the game manually, after which it works fine. I was wondering if there was something I was doing wrong with either the arguments or the fake file extension, as having to select the files manually defeats the purpose.

2. Closing down ScummVM
After closing down ScummVM, my XBMC seems to jump to my secondary (laptop) screen, and I have to go to settings to tell it to go back to my primary display. I have tried using a .bat launcer to circumvent the drop in resolution, which goes as follows:

"pskill -t XBMC.exe
cd E:\Games\PC\Emulator
start /max scummvm.exe %1
cd "C:\xBMC\"
start /max XBMC.exe"

My launcer has been changed to open this launcher rather than ScummVM, and I have a feeling this may be the reason my games do not open automatically, as my launcher is circumventing the order to open the game. Also, the launcher seems inconsistent, as ScummVM sometimes opens fullscreen, and sometimes opens as a window, as well as my XBMC continuing to reopen fullscreen but on my secondary display.

Any help on these matters would be amazing, as I would love to get this working along with my other emulators. I already have NES SNES N64 GBC GBA Playstation and Sega Genesis working perfectly, so if anyone would like help on these please feel free to email or PM me. I hope to hear from you guys soon.
You have to use the scummvm short name of the game and name the games folder accordingly. For Discworld this would be "dw". You can find all the short names on the scummvm compatibility page.

You put your game files in a folder called "dw" and when you call it using the launcher you have to also give it the path to where the files are stored.
'-f -pC:\path\to\gamefiles\%romname% %romname%'

Hi there thank you for the really speedy reply. I already have the game in a folder called dw, as I was using the compatability page. Also, when you say the launcher, do you mean Advanced Launcher in XBMC, or the batch file launcher that I had to write to get it to go fullscreen? Thanks again.

I think it would be easiest to just change the line in your launcher to include the path and the launch parameters "start /max scummvm.exe -f -pC:\path\to\gamefiles\%1 %1" and just change the argument to %romname%.

That is how I launch it in Xbmcbuntu, but I think it should work the same way in Windows.
Amazing! The games now load themselves up when I choose them, thank you so much friend!
I still have one little issue though, upon exiting the game, XBMC does indeed go back to fullscreen mode and my computer goes back to 1920x1080, but XBMC is stuck in the resolution the games use, which I have only managed to scale up to 1024x768. I was wondering if I could add anything to my launcher that insists that XBMC loads back up in 1920x1080, or if there were any scaling plugins for ScummVM that allows this resolution?

Can't you just set ScummVM to the same resolution and tell it to scale the image? I do that in Xbmcbuntu using OpenGL but I believe you should be able to do the same in Windows. You might need to set this up via the config file for ScummVM though. Check their documentation.
Sadly I've tried that, the largest I can make ScummVM scale is to 1024x768, and I can't seem to see a config page, gonna do some Googling =) I should probably looking into going Ubuntu. Thanks alot for all your help you've made my emulator database that much better

Problem was XBMC related and have been fixed by lastest GIT versions...

If you want to use .lnk file extension with the script you must disable the .lnk file support into launcher advanced launcher. If you do not do that .lnk files will be automatically started by Advanced launcher and not taken into account by the script. That's what you observe. Next, have you try to start .lnk file using the gbtray.exe command line out of XBMC? Is it working or not?

When adding a launcher, there are now sources/folders in the popup.
I read about adding a source in the File Manager but that doesn't have any effect. Also, it is completely empty, my SMB and NFS shares aren't in it to.
