@Phobios You probably need a ~/.asoundrc file to point to the default Audio device. Xbmcbuntu should generate one, but try deleting the file, make sure correct audio device is selected in xbmc and reboot PC.
@teeedubb: Tried it, but the same .asoundrc was generated after reboot.

I have the same issue when using xbmcbuntu OS, i.e, I get no sound when running any applications. I found one anomaly though. I tried to run mupen64plus through lubuntu since I couldn't get it running through advanced launcher, and it did give audio output (though no video output, only blackscreen). After one run of mupen64plus I did get audio in other applications as well, so it seems mupen64plus enabled something.
Into Pulseaudio, check that the sound of the application you are using is not muted or redirected by default to a wrong output. You must have something like this :

Your problem is just an audio configuration problem of your system. I have just tested to start Chromium (v34.0.1847.132) from Advanced Launcher (v2.5,2) with XBMC (v13.0) of my Linux 64-bit system (Manjaro Linux, 3.12.19-1-MANJARO x86_64), and I have sounds.

You just have to Install a dedicated GUI :
It looks like pulseaudio isn't installed in xbmcbuntu and not available through the repos. I checked with alsamixer though and made sure that no channels were muted, but still got no sound. I noticed that my receiver is going bananas whenever I try to run a snes rom switching between different modes. Haven't seen this behavior in my receiver at any other point.

I guess I will just keep debugging or maybe try another base OS on which I will install XBMC on top off (any recommendations?). It doesn't look like it has anything to do with advanced launcher. Thanks for your help though! If you can think of something that might be of help to me, I would really appreciate it.

Manjaro Openbox Edition? During install select autologin. Setup Openbox autostsart to automatically start XBMC. Disable conky, tint2, a use an uniform black wallpaper... and you are into business. Wink
Based on arch! Awesome! Will try it out as soon as I have time. Thanks Big Grin
I'm having a minor problem, but it's been bugging me for months and I can't figure out how to fix it. I've been using this Addon to launch Steam and Hyperspin from my main menu, but each time I run it, the Addon opens a blank page with a random viewtype set before actually launching the executable. I had this set up and working fine before but after an update it began to exhibit this behaviour and nothing I've tried will fix it. Here's an example of what it does http://imgur.com/kV84IRG

Do you start your launchers from Advanced Launcher itself, from an XBMC favourites or from a skin menu entry? Which version of Advanced Launcher are you using? Do you have the same problem with XBMC default skin? How are configurated your lanuchers (could you post the content of your launchers.xml file using pastebin sevice)? Does Steam or Hyperspin start anyway?
I have it set to launch from xbmc favourites. Using 2.5.2. Same issue with confluence when I launch from the favourites. Both steam and hyperspin start with no pther issues. http://pastebin.com/Yum05bkS

Thanks Smile

Ok... so I think the problem comes from the favourites. Edit the xbmc/userdata/favourites.xml file to call Advanced Launcher using the RunPlugin() function like explained here :

That got it to work thanks!
I angelscry, there are some kind of problems with comicvine scraper? For example for manga Fairy Tail #1 he found details but don't download thumbs..

Another question..
Why if I name manga like this "Fairy tail #01" the scraper don't found anything? Is a issue about zero?

I will take a look. Maybe something has been changed on the Comic Vine website, and the scrapper need to be updated.

Yes, filenames must be as close as possible as than the title displayed into Comic Vine. Comic Vine search engine is really strict

I tried to configure mupen64plus with my m64py and had 0 luck getting it to boot from advance launcher in Gotham xbmcbuntu. Specifically I found no option to set always boot full screen as posted in the wiki. I'll try one of the other front ends tomorrow I guess.
