I've been looking all over the internet and nothing.. I just instaled Lirc, and with my mceusb, it works out of the box but is not very responsive, I mean, I have to press the button a couple times for the action to happen. I don't know how to mess with the gap and the other values in order to get it right, so I just went for the irrecord. after pressing any button just where the program tells you to press repeatedly one button, I get this error...

irrecord no toggle bit mask found
but i know for sure that RC6 has a toggle bit

is there a fix for this??
Well irrecord is for recording remotes that don't work at all, and if yours works in the least, then you probably don't need it.

To modify the gap value of your remote, open lircd.conf (/etc/lirc/lircd.conf on my machine) and change the value of gap to a higher or lower value, depending on what you want.
what other method can be used to record a remote.
I just went back to 9.10, now everithing is working fine.
