I was looking through Newegg for parts for a potential dedicated HTPC (currently using my main desktop)

If you had the choice between the two, which would you select any why?
Basically trying educate myself enough here to move off my my NMT.

I've been using XBMC more and more and I'm very impressed with it's capabilities over the the NMT. I wished it had a few things like the better GUIs for apps like Boxee has.

I'd go for the ION-Board. It may be a little more expensive, but has major advantages:

• passive cooling, which means silence
  
• less power consumption
  
• nvidia-accelerated graphics for playing hd-content
  

ION board easily.

-Nvidia GPU over an Intel GPU always (this is like 90% of the reason, Intel GPUs suck)

-You don't need any more power to play the meanest 1080p files out there

-Of Intel's terrible GPUs, the GPU in that mobo is among the worst. It is literally one fourth as powerful as the GPU on the ION board on its best day.
