Hi everyone,

do you know a nice site having video samples for testing purposes. I just would like to check, if my htpc is able to play all the sampe files...

Especially videos which require high system performance are appreciated.

Kind regards

Not sure if the links are good, but this is a great test sample.
That is versions of the famous "killasample". Thats great, but I would like some different video formats and then a number of audio samples of different format and frequences and with 2.0, 2.1, 5.1 etc tests. When I have the time I will try to find something.
mplayer has a very large collection of samples:

Interesting. I will see if I can sort through at some time. (51GB Smile)

So, if I can play the last one without having any dropped frames, I can play everything without having dropped frames?

I'm talking about this sample: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1D4BX1U9 Bird_42_MBit_ABR_(+-1.5 MBit).mkv 109.6 MB

You can be reasonably certain that the others in that list will not drop frames if that one works. As for other video containers, codecs, and such, see the mplayer samples listed above.
3 frames dropped on an Atom 330 with a GF8300 (pci) with the Bird_42_MBit_ABR sample (no screen tearing, perfect image).
So I would guess it's safe to say that, provided you have a VDPAU capable card, you can play any x264 file on about anything Smile
