It prob is overkill.. I'm famous for it it.. I'm sure between me and the kids we'll do some gaming on it.. I was thinking about going windows 8 so i'm sure there will be some games in the app store. Not sure if the case is going to fit in my cabinet though. Any suggestions on a similar shaped case with a smaller footprint?
Does XBMC support quad core apus? cant seem to find a clean answer on this

Why did you go with the Mini rather than the Micro? Especially with that A10
Im currently in the dilemma of chossing micro atx, a horizontal desktop atx or a smaller desktop HTPC atx case. Dispite everyone building the small scale boxs they just freak me out. Really worried about air flow and future upgrades limitaitions.
But i think Ive finally settled on this one:

The price is higher then the cpu or mobo that Ive chosseen, any one have any ideas on similar cases (somthing that blends with the entertainment setup) for a Micro atx mobo?
my MOBO:

Hi everyone i'm a new in this forum but i have an old passion for XBMC from the first build born on Xbox and this is the first time i want make a question about an hardware to buy for XBMC.
Now i want move on xbmc on windows an i need a little suggestion from your high competence in this new world for me, the HTPC; i don't have time to build an hardware from myself then i looking for an hardware "Ready to Go" and before i spend my money i want ask your thinking about some thing i have find to buy.
In this page there are many from Zotac and Shuttle.
I Konw this is much expensive, but its good for XBMC?.
If someone have another suggest is welcome and i want say thank you to all of you in advance.
P.s.
Sorry for my english.
That machine would def run anything that you throw at it but depending on what else you'll be using it for it might me over kill. If your just watching movies, online and light gaming then you could save a lot and go with a less expensive dell model with HDMI outputs.
Really depends on what you want it to be able to do and your budget.

I was about to order the parts for my very first HTPC running Windows, but now I'll hang on for an update to your mail. Not putting you under pressure or anything, I hope ....
Thanks for all your hard work.

Thank you for your advice, i usually want use my Htpc for movies and whatching tv nonthing else.
I cant speak on the zotac minicomp but as far as the desktop Id go with an i3 if you wanted intell and the A-8 for amd, ( the new AMD richland comes out this month along with a few intells) might wait till after they're released to save a bit of cash.

Thank you again yakub26 for your time and help, i think about this in this days and I have taken into consideration your advice.
Personally I need a HTPC that can manage only the XBMC with hdmi outputs and wireless network card, I already have a notebook (Core i7, 16 gb, 17 ") but I use it for work so I would like a multimedia station, independent , which manages movies and games that is why I have interest in Alienware X51.
So I think I've already taken my decision, now I just have to decide on the type of configuration.
Processor
Intel® Core™ i7-3770 (3,40 GHz, cache L3 da 8 MB, 4C)
OS
Windows 8 64bit
RAM4
Dual Channel SDRAM DDR3 da 8 GB5 a 1600 MHz
Hard Disk
SATA da 1 TB e 7.200 rpm
Video Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 whit GDDR5 da 1,5 GB
Optical Drive
DVD+/-RW
Wireless
LAN wireless Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n integrata
The i7 is overkill. Go with a simple i3 and use the onboard graphics and call it a day

Ok, then i replace the core processor I7 whit I3 and you think the graphic card is too excessive for my configuration?...i mean for videogames too?
As usual, thanks
what about a amd apu, cheap and can run games at mid settings, be cooler and a lot cheaper.
