Full Version: FTP file share not working properly with scraping.

Library mode scraping is not working when file sharing over FTP.

Example of my directory:

Wanted (2008)
Wanted-fanart.jpg
Wanted-trailer.mp4
Wanted.mkv
Wanted.nfo
Wanted.tbn
folder.jpg

When I add a source as FTP:
if .nfo file exists no posters or fanart, XBMC scraping or otherwise.
if .nfo file is removed, XBMC will scrape normally and not use any local
content.

When I add the same source as SMB:
everything works like a charm, scraper will use local content first, and
scrape if stuff is missing.

The obvious solution to this problem would be to just use SMB but in my case the library is running on WHS and I experience all sorts of lag issues when I use SMB, using FTP (buffers) solves all that and everything looks really smooth and responsive.

The FTP access is allowing XBMC full r/w control so that should not be an issue.

I have replicated the issue on different hardware.
I'm seeing this issue.

All my content is indexed with Media Companion and has full info plus posters/banners/fanart.

Was all scraped with images correctly through SMB. I found the bitrates of files I could play over wifi was much improved with FTP, so I deleted MyVideos34.db and Thumbnails and rebuilt using ftp paths in sources.

All content is showing up but with no images - just folder icons.
