1.
I'm running the latest XBMC - version on a mac mini.
The SKIP - function on the apple remote works different compared to Front Row:
when watching DVD and using Front Row - skipping means: jump to the next chapter
using XBMC - skipping means: jump by 30 sec !!
Can this be changed?
2.
When changing XBMC-settings to start XBMC by pressing Menu on the apple remote, then the apple remote can not any longer be used with iTunes!
Is there a work around?
Regards,
Frank
homeuser,

Welcome to the forums. To answer your questions:

1) Take a look here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Adv...3Cvideo.3E. There does not seem to be a way to skip based on chapter breaks that I can find.

2) When you set "Allow start of XBMC using remote", there is a task called XBMCHelper which stays active after you exit XBMC. This is the task that processes IR commands. One possible option would be to setup XBMC to start iTunes. But you will have to make sure the XBMCHelper is not running before executing iTunes. Take a look at this to see how to kill and restart XBMCHelper when running third party apps: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=94757.

Hope this helps.
winestock,
thanks for quick respone.
1. there should be a way cuz, if I use the overlay menu on the XBMC screen (here you can find a Skip-Button) by mouse - it works, so, the function is implemented.
2. I played allready with starting iTunes from XBMC - but I thought, there was a simpier way.
Thanks anyway,
Frank.
homeuser,

I did some searching and found this: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Act...reen_Video. I am going to try changing my keyboard.xml file for the Apple remote to see if bigstepforward and bigstepback skip to chapters. I actually like skipping by chapters. Been looking for this functionality.

As far as iTunes, there is the built-in Music which can access your iTunes music. Might want to look into using it.
