I have just installed XBMC live and have set the "display 4:3 videos as" 16:9 but for some reason they are not stretching to 16:9 under the Windows version this worked perfectly but for some reason on Live this will not work.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most welcome.

OK the version of XBMC live that i am using is : 10.0 r35648 compiled Dec 17 2010, which i installed from a live cd. Architecture is i686.
The problem is when i have selected in "display 4:3 videos as" 16:9 they are still appearing as 4:3 and not stretching at all
Make sure your viewmode is set to "normal" in the video settings dialog during playback.
