I've installed Ubuntu10 to my compuuter and would like to install "xbmcfreak-1000-maverick-v2" on it. I have the"xbmcfreak-1000-maverick-v2 iso". Can someone explain how this is done I just started playing with Linux after creating a live Flash drive of the same XBMC Version. I've run it from the Flash drive and installed from the flash Drive but would like to install it to a full version of Ubuntu. Thanks
XBMC Freak is it's own distro and not designed to be installed on top of a desktop install of Ubuntu. Instead you'll want to install the PPA version of XBMC or use GIT to pull down source and compile yourself to run XBMC on top of a full Ubuntu desktop.

As it happens I just dorked up my previous install and am doing this tonight from GIT. I haven't looked but there should be a tutorial out there on how to get the source files, what the dependencies are, and how to set it up. When I last did this it was for SVN but GIT is now used and I'm pretty sure this is also documented - I'll see soon enough Big Grin

Edit: nticed this in another member's signature and it ought to help -> http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=89817
