im currently setting up my first HTPC with XBMC under ubuntu 10.10. I had everything working fine till now. I start XBMC simply with autostart in a Gnome session. But since yesterday (I played around with Gnomes appearance) XBMC autostarts in a window. It is fullscreen in a window and I can see the tasbars. If I start XBMC manually it goes straight to fullcreen. I found several threads in this forum but they only deal with Windows so they didnt help me out. I hope someone can point me in the right direction this is driving me crazy.

Open it from gnome so that it will be windowed. press the "\" key on your keyboard so it goes to fullscreen. Close and reopen XBMC and it should go back to being fullscreen. At least that works for me on 10.4 Lucid.

Found the problem. The programm Ted that I have in startup causes it. When I turn it off XBMC boots up just fine.
