1) You have YET to post the codec information on the failed mkvs, so no wonder it doesn't get solved.
2) Most people (myself included) stop posting to sound threads because it's the same #@(* 3-4 problems. People want the answer handed to them.
99.5% of problems would be solved with a "aplay -l" find the device, use custom and the device.
