Is there a way to compare the existing movies in the filesystem with the movies that are already in the database?!

I have sometimes the problem with the automated database update that movies where no info can be found online (because the name is wrong or in another language) will not show up in the database - but the system is not informing you that this happened.

This is a known issue.

One of the developers jmarshall is working on a rewrite of how the library works in order for this to no longer be an issue. The changes will apparently be brought into xbmc during a later release.

With current master, any files that have information in the database are displayed with that information (rather than just the filename) so it's pretty easy now to at least see which ones don't have info.

Obviously things will be improved further as time goes on.
