New i3 setup. 4gb ram 1tb drive split into 75gb system drive and rest is blank

You can see my entire setup here:
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Public...r=22679088

gigabyte network buffalo router and netgear switch, server and htpc are on the same switch
server is a p4 machine

i trouble shot the network by hooking up my core 2 duo laptop to the same cable as htpc and it steams perfect. i tried several movies

windows 7 pro

xbmc 10.0.. i have not downloaded a nightly build

i tried the same file im trying to play, saving private ryan, in windows media player and it to skipps all over the place, so its some setting in my system i guess. I copied the file to my drive and it plays perfect
It sounds like a network problem on the HTPC side just because your laptop works fine doesn't mean its working fine on your HTPC

If you use something like the network monitor in SWI on both the laptop and HTPC while streaming the same media or passing the same file to both your be able to compare the two see if there is a big difference in performance

SWI is here

Ill give it a shot when I get home
