Evening All
I have had a search and read the FAQ but not found a definitive answer to my question.
I play mkv files of TV Episodes say 1 hour long in 720p which is a 1.7GB file for example. However all of the mkv's have tiny slow downs and then a catch up to the sound.
Obviously I understand that XBMC on iOS is very new and there are a lot of bugs but I just wanted confirmation that video playback will improve to the point that there are no slow downs in framerate.
I would like to know because if it won't I will return the ATV2 and buy a Zotac Mag or something similar.
Thanks for reading
David

Hey David,
I imagine the dev's definitely have performance in mind. They've incorporated a bunch of great features and hopefully have some <cough>NFS</cough> surprises for R11.
I am curious as to whether your performance issues are occurring using the wireless or are you hardwired?
Sorry I should have posted my setup
The MKV is a 720p 1 hour TV episode (1.23GB) which sits on my Server 2008 machine. XBMC is set up to access this via SMB and it connects through a wired Gigabit switch which both are attached too.
I have disabled "generate thumbnails" and the problem still occurs.
Below are the mkv details
