sorry did a search but so many and all the ones i search don't relate. My sound has been working fine for over a year or so all of sudden last night i only get background sound and not when people talk etc. Any ideas. All settings in audio are still the same.

I will check when i get home. It is on a acer revo and the sound has always worked fine and it still works on some movies just not all ~ all of a sudden. I haven't changed anything so i don't understand how it works one day and quits the next unless i have some sort of hardware issue brewing up.
Figured it out. Cat crawled behind the e-system and chewed the wire to my center speaker into, so on 5.1 sound the center speaker wasn't connected anymore so no voice sound. thx
