Hello there! I have been using this website for quite some time and it has helped me out loads. I recently purchased a revo 3700 and I am using the live version of xbmc. This works wonderfully. I was thinking about getting a second hand Xbox 360 HD DVD drive as they are pretty cheap at the minute. My question is: Are these drives supported by xbmc and would I be able to play/rip HD DVDs, audio or video from this drive through xbmc? Cheers in advance.

I have an idea that the XBox DVD drive has custom firmware and won't work on a PC. Check the XBox forums though.

Whether XBMC and/or Linux can read it is another matter....

I have heard of people using these as external disc drives, even playing HD DVDs on windows with them. I know HD DVDs are soon to be obsolete but the disc even brand new are very cheap.
