Hello,

xbmc 2:10.1~ppa1~maverick running on a Zotac ZBOX HD-ID11.
I uninstalled pulseaudio to get 5.1 working.

While playing music with cross-fading enabled, I often get the error:
"Failed to initialize audio device"

I will always get this error if I switch to the next track or select a new song while an existing song is playing. Any ideas?

I see the following errors in the log:

Unable to load libcrystalhd.so.3, reason: libcrystalhd.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

then:

ERROR: Unable to open audio mixer
ERROR: Initialize - device hdmi:CARD=NVidia busy retrying...
ERROR: Initialize - pcm_open_lconf, alsa error: -16 - Device or resource busy

xbmc has complete control over my audio. Any idea on how to get this working?

Edit: bug posted here http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11413
I have this same problem. Any options how to fix this?
Use the ALSA digital mixer, it'll allow more than one device to open the output.
