Full Version: Movies play choppy in XBMC, but fine in VLC

The box I'm running is a dual core Atom 1.4 Ghz with 2 GB of memory and N wireless. At first I thought the choppy movies in XBMC were the wireless speed, then I thought the box might not be powerful enough, but when I installed VLC and XVID, and then ran the movie in VLC, they run with no problems.

So is there a setting I'm missing to allow XBMC to play the movies without any choppyness?

I'm running Windows 7 SP1 Fully patched with no Anti-Virus.

Any ideas?
Have you enabled hardware acceleration from System settings, Video, Playback?

I'm not sure, but I'll check and see if I did. What is the movie player in XBMC? Is it a custom player or someone else's built into the interface?

It was written by the XBMC team, but obviously uses lots of existing open source code such as ffmpeg.

Did you resolve your issue?
Cause I'm having the same problem now.
