Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere but I'm not really sure what to search for. I've just added a few new movies to the Library and done a scan. All has gone well except the movie info is not showing - bitrate, 1080p etc - the litte logos just aren't there.

All my original movies have them visible, the only difference being that the original ones had moviesheets created by me using ThumbGen and the new ones didn't. Would ThumbGen have added info the actual MKV file that XBMC is reading?

I can't gaurente this will work, but I had this exact issue and it was resolved on these forums by exporting the database...

I know it sounds weird and I never thought it would work, but as soon as I exported the database, those flags came back... If you look through my threads you will see it Smile

Try exporting your database and then relaunch xbmx and see how that goes ... Can't hurt Smile and it worked for me Smile

Update...

Here is the link to the thread in question

Tried it, no luck though. I tried exporting as one file and then exporting individual files and then rebooting but no tags showing.

Wonder where it's picking this up fromHuh
why not you post the contents of one of your nfo files.
How do I get at the content of the .nfo files? When I open them, I don't see anything. All the folders have .nfo files now I've done the export but I guess the movei file information must still be missing as it's not showing up. I've tried removing the movies from the library and adding again but they're still not there.
Hhhmmmm, I engaged my brain and accessed the nfo file:

I've read right through your conversation with Patrick but doesn't seem to be working for me. Thinking of deleting ALL the files in each movie folder (except the movie folder of course), exporting again then removing from the libary and re-adding. Can't see it working but I'm going to try it.

Any thoughts on the nfo file?
Not sure if this helps but all my nfos have this at the end
<fileinfo>
<streamdetails>
<audio>
<channels>2</channels>
<codec>mp3</codec>
</audio>
<video>
<aspect>1.500</aspect>
<codec>xvid</codec>
<duration>108</duration>
<height>480</height>
<scantype>Progressive</scantype>
<width>720</width>
</video>
</streamdetails>
</fileinfo>
</movie>
Indeed! This is what I've realised. The nfo exports for my 50 newest movies don't contain that file info data, no idea why. All other movies do but these ones don't. I've tried removing, re-adding, re-exporting but XBMC isn't including this data in the nfo file. This must be the problem.

While I'm at it, anyone know the DOS command to remove all the .actor directories in one go that I've accidentally created? They are in 769 separate movie subfolders Confused Please help, I don't fancy doing this manually.
Just to let you know i user EMM to scan all my films always adds all correct nfo

I've done the actor thing before i just go to root directory in search window type .actors and it finds all folders just select all and delete
GENIUS!!!! About the second thing, not the first thing. That's brilliant, didn't realise you could do that. What on Earth have I been frigging about in DOS for all this time??

I assume EMM is another scraper? Could give it a go but IMDB has worked for all the other hundreds so don't know why it's suddenly stopped.
DJ, Patrick, I now have 3 problems:

1) For some reason XBMC is not including Movie Tag Info in with the NFO when it does a scrape - main problem.

2) I can't download EMM - says Ember Download Site Is Not Available when I run the EXE.

3) Even when I can get the Movie Tag Info included in the NFO (using ThumbGen), it doesn't display anyway!!!

ARRRGH!!!!!

Do you guys have any idea what I could try next? Done loads of deletions, re-scans, re-exports, re-booting. Nothing seems to work. My poor films look naked without their information.
Download from here works a treat
http://sourceforge.net/projects/emm-r/files/1.2/
I know exactly how you feel, I had this exact issue and so frustrated...

I have no idea how but the export to single files and overwrite all existing files resolved my issues, all I can say is that when I did this I actually did it in this order...

1 searched windows directory for .actors and for .nfo and deleted all info for the films..

2 deleted and removed my sources and removed the info from the database..

3 deleted my database in my user profile

4 reinstalled xbmx and then reinstalled my skin

5 then reimported my movies, and re scrpaed 1 directory at a time...

6 once all scraped, I never exported the data and this is where I encountered this exact issue...

The. Dj suggested I post my nfo... However I never had any so I exported my database in this order...

A... clean the database and then export to single files export everything and overwrite everything...

B... Exit xbmc when all complete, reopen xbmc and then clean database again BAM all my tags reappeared?

I can not explain this, nor can I say it will work for anyone but I can say this ... I did this exact route and it worked for me... And it was thanks to dj Big Grin

You could try that again, with a cup of tea and a cake and hope for the best.. It can't hurt anyone and I can honestly state (as that thread proves) it genuinely worked for me and I totally feel for you as I felt gutted to have lost mall that useful info so was really chuffed when dj got it back for me Smile
Thanks guys for your help. I've now got EMM and have re-scraped all the new movies but ONLY for Metadata. This then adds tags to the existing NFOs therefore keeping all the existing movie information (crucial as for some reason EMM is not scraping all the required info). If I then EITHER play each movie for like a second, the tags appear OR alternatively remove each movie and then rescan, the tags of course appear.

Bit annoying, no idea why the XBMC scraper has stopped scraping Metadata. Kind of makes the nice easy input of movies not so nice and easy but at least I've found a solution.

Thanks for the EMM tip, great piece of software and thanks Patrick for the detailed instructions, really appreciate it.
