Thanks, I may add a HD playlist, but I also wanted to add iPlayer and Colbert Report or some such to the home menu. I didn't realise it was limited to Smart Playlists.

I cannot find custom playlists in AeonMQ2, so made them in Night.
Going back into AeonMQ2, I still cannot do anything with the custom home menu item, does nothing, doesn't even let me select a playlist.
I'm thinking there's a bug here... ;-)
Tutorial - How to add items to the main menu. - Wanilton - 2010-10-02
1. - Suppose you have the option VIDEOS inside a directory with files that do not fit into other categories, such ANIMES.
2. - Select the desired folder and press C.
3. - In the context menu that opens choose ADD TO FAVOURITES. - No confirmation message after you click this item it is.
4. - Now go back to the main menu, go to SETTINGS> MAIN MENU> MENU ITEMS and click NEW ITEM.
5. - After a few seconds a list with the name of the folder you just added to your favorites.
6. - Select the folder and click ENTER.
Okay, now just go back to the main menu the new item should appear next to VIDEOS.
Note You can create up to 8 items.
To customize the background image go to SETTINGS> MAIN MENU> BACKDROPS and choose an image or a folder with multiple images as information on the screen.

The repository has a fix, then you need to update it in order to obtain updates of the skin.
How to:
- Go into ADD-ONS> GET ADD-ONS> REPOSITÓRIO AEON MQ and press C on your keyboard.
- Select then FORCE REFRESH.
- Enter the REPOSITORY> SKIN and see if there is an update.
- Have to manually restart XBMC and after completion.

Nope, doesn't work. I'm going to have to uninstall / reinstall I guess.

I've done the change and it now works perfect, thank you.
Two other minor issues,
1. When on Movies/Showcase/Library Mode, when the info panel drops down the preview window does not appear to do anything.
2. When in 'full screen info' the plot does not scroll down (I think this has been mentioned before)

Thank you very much for the detailed instructions. But they did not fix the problem -- still stuck at 0%. Even after restarting XBMC after the FORCE REFRESH and before trying to download the update.
I suppose I will uninstall and reinstall from the zip and try again. Thanks for the help!

Love the skin and I have a few requests.
1. Possibility to hide the logos (FOX, 720, H264 ) and the aired date when viewing a specific TV episode and instead use all space to display the description. Especially useful when I disable the 'panel max' option. Also auto scroll the description if not all is displayed.
2. Have different fan arts for different seasons or better yet randomize the background from all available fan arts withing a specific TV series instead of having the same fan art picture for all seasons.

In AeonMQ2 go to settings - appearance - file list and bullet [show parent folder items.]
Esc out to the home main menu - select movies - and you should see the parent folder icon before the first movie poster. Click on it
Next click on the [ .. ] no braces and you will see playlist listed in the next menu.
Now you can do one of two things, you can highlight playlist hit c and add the playlist item to favorites, or you can do what I did and enter playlists menu and add the individual playlists to your favorites.
After which you can now add the individual playlists, now favorites, to the main menu. It's an Aeon thing as other skins like Night or Cirrus have menu options available for playlists. Aeon supports it but not in the settings menu per se'. It's a round about way of doing it but it works. I have on my AeonMQ2 main menu HD Movies, Film Noir, Foreign, Animation set up with smart playlist - Path contains - folder. After setting up I hide the parent folder items again.

I appreciate the full walk-through, and I have custom playlists that show in Night etc, just not in Aeon. I am sure the custom home menu item is broken and will try to reinstall later.

Nothing is broken mate, everything on this skin seems to work perfect. I've added 5 items in home menu and works like a charm.

Just to close the loop on my issue, I deleted the repository and skin directories from my addons folder, downloaded and reinstalled the repository from the zip file, did a force refresh of the repository, and that allowed me to update to 2.1. All is working now.

I uninstalled everything, re-added repo and aeon, and updated skin. I could then add BBC iPlayer to my home menu.
Success. Sort of.
I thought BBC iPLAYER was too big, so I deleted the custom item, and renamed my favourite to just iPLAYER. When I try to re-add a custom item, same old blank screen...
Def some bugginess with this feature.
While I'm moaning (
) I'd prefer custom sub-menu anyway, keeps the home menu cleaner.

Hi when i click on trailers menu option it just comes up with the gray menu but it's empty and it says install apple trailers when i exit to the main menu. I went to the addons and install apple trailers lite and it works from within the video menu option but not when i open the trailers menu option. Am i missign something?
