I'm using DSPlayer for mkv playing without any issue.

I tried playing index.bdmv or .mpls file without success: I tried lavfilter as source/splitter and several other ones...but no luck.

Has anyone successed it?

thanks in advance for any reply,
Paolo.

I just wanted to clarify, does this also mean that someone will be porting dsplayer for eaden when it fully releases b/c this would be great!

My guess once eden is released at least one person will create a build with dsplayer incorporated. Still alot of us using dsplayer for multiple reasons.

Its a real shame that the project is dead....but, even given that, I use it as my main HTPC - best thing since sliced bread.

PS - now, MadVR with Dsplayer - that would be a combo Big Grin

Hey buddy,

I know what you mean. XBMC for Windows really does needs a directshow option for both video and audio. Not knocking XBMC or anything, just that the choice to use custom filters would be great.

Hopefully when/if binary add-ons happen, a directshow player add-on will emerge. I believe dvdplayer will even become an add-on.

Cheers

DSPlayer can use external things for :
- splitter (You can use Haali's spliter).
- Audio & Video (you can use ffdshow).
Is there by any chance the possibility to make it use Directvobsub/vsfilter for subtitles ?

For certain it cant be used when using DXVA because of how it works

I use to use it with CoreAVC when DSPlayer didn't support subs but someone recently had a problem with subs so I tried using it again in a few different ways but I couldn't get it to render the subs even though the filter loaded

Why do you want to use it anyway when DSPlayer now supports subs ?

Edit : Just read your other posts so now know why

ok it works using Haali and LAV Video so it should also work with CoreAVC and it only works with external subtitles

I just added Directvobsub the auto loading version as an extra filter

Code:
</filter>
      <filter name="DirectVobSub" type="extra">
      <guid>{9852A670-F845-491B-9BE6-EBD841B8A613}</guid>
    </filter>

Then just added it in mediasconfig.xml

Code:
<rule filetypes="mkv">
      <source filter="haali" />
      <splitter filter="haali" />
      <video filter="lavvideo" />
      <audio filter="lavaudio" />
      <extra>
        <extra filter="DirectVobSub" />
      </extra>
