RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

Hello

I think this is my first post here, so hello Wink

My problem is with playing DTS-HD music videos on BeeBox.
I have DTS-HD demos from concerts, and if file is 1GB or more, there is problem with desync between video and audio - audio is beeing late, it progress during playback. Oddly, playing DTS-HD movies (tried Harry Pottre 36GB version and LOTR Two Towers 34GB version) is fine, no desync at all.
I have also windows 10 on it, and there, on kodi, playback is fine, but no DTS-HD

Tried this files on borrowed Asus Eee Box, with nvidia 610m gpu, official OE 5.x and no problem.

I have BeeBox with N3150 cpu, msata 128 and 8GB dual channel RAM.
I have tested official OE 6, yesterday Fritsch - OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0.95-fritsch.tar, and today OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-devel-20151104072854-r21538-gb57169c.tar

when i display on screen info, frame drop or skip is 1-2 per whole video, but cpu usage is high - one core is always near 100%, rest is ~20-30% but cpu load changes on cores it;s not that only first or second, etc. core is fully loaded.

don't know what to do next, thanks for answer.

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - fritsch - 2015-11-05

No Debug Log no issue. Find out which process is making this 100% cpu usage. I cannot help when not seeing a Debug Log.

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

sorry for this, will send it as soon as get home

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - Hetfiled - 2015-11-05

I'll receive my beebox tomorrow
which version do you suggest?

OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0.95-fritsch.img.gz
or
OpenELEC-Generic.x86_64-6.0-devel-20151104072854-r21538-gb57169c.img.gz

Thank you

Is setting up Windows/OpenElec dual boot straight forward, are there any guides? I've finally ordered my N3150 and might give it a go

https://blog.jordanhopfner.com/2013/01/10/triple-boot-windows-7-linux-openelec/

I sort of followed this guide. I think you can leave out installing Linux mint and install Windows and openelec.

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

This worked for me as a charm

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

log from my kodi is now - unimportant Wink

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - fritsch - 2015-11-05

Concerning the 100% load - please make a screenshot from the "top" window.

From the log: It seems those are 29.97i files. While playing the video, press the film role and select:
Deinterlace Auto
Deinterlacing-Method: VAAPI-Motion Compensation (or VAAPI-MCDI)

and click "Save for all movies".

Also when debugging such things - play from local disk - I don't trust SMB at all.

Edit: The log looks horrible. If you can, please share a sample with me: dd if=yourfile.ts of=sampleforfritsch.ts bs=1M count=100

Thanks much.

Edit2: Now I see it, man. You force "deinterlacing to on" - why do you do this?
Quote:13:55:30 T:139902777718528 DEBUG: Previous line repeats 1 times.
13:55:30 T:139902777718528 DEBUG: ffmpeg[7F3DA75E7700]: [src] w:1920 h:1080 pixfmt:nv12 tb:1/1 fr:0/1 sar:1/1 sws_param:
13:55:30 T:139902777718528 DEBUG: CFFmpegPostproc::Init - skip deinterlacing

Always keep this setting on Auto - never ever force it to On.

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

Fritsch - Deinterlacing-Method: VAAPI-Motion Compensation (or VAAPI-MCDI) worked, all problems solved Wink
ane now cpu load rer core is max 30%, previously one core was always 90%-100%

Thanks a lot Smile

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - fritsch - 2015-11-05

Tell me: Why did you force Deinterlace to On?
I want to make my description as good as possible, here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=231955

So where is it confusing?

The 100%: With default Auto deinterlacing _all_ the video frames was copied to system memory again and then processed with the cpu again ... too much for the BSW as it happens out of VAAPI on the plain CPU.

RE: ASRock Beebox (Braswell) - bournepl - 2015-11-05

I didn't. I will tell you how it was
Previously I had EeeBox with nvidia gpu and OE, now BeeBox. After clean install OE was working, but i was unable to enter nor kodi nor OE add-on repository, so I backed up OE from EeeBox and recover to BeeBox, and repositories are working.

So maybe this restore from EeeBox made Deinterlace to On.
But later, I tried to play this video on hard reseted OE and it was the same.

i still doesn't know why repos are not working after hard reset or clean instalation
