RE: [RELEASE] iPhoto Plugin Addon for XBMC - jingai - 2013-06-05
@Signal.quest
Sorry for the delay getting back to you -- been quite busy these past few days.
I did get a chance to look at your problem this morning. It appears that the issue is you've got an event/roll with a key photo that is non-existent. Specifically, the key photo is ID 32284 and the event/roll is named "5/30/10".
I've modified the plugin to simply ignore non-existent key photos. The event will still appear in the list -- it just won't have an icon.
I will release the fix soon, but until then, if you want to correct it yourself, you can probably do so by changing/fixing the key photo for the event "5/30/10". If that doesn't make it work for you, please let me know.

That solved my issue with browsing events! Thanks!
I still have an issue with most pictures not displaying once I click on the thumbnail. I only get a black screen. They seem to be pictures taken from my camera in landscape. Can I please send you my log file again? Thanks.
RE: [RELEASE] iPhoto Plugin Addon for XBMC - signal.quest - 2013-06-08
I sent you a PM with my log file. Please take a look if possible. Thanks again!

Could someone please explain to me how to set up the share on a Mac. I have allowed sharing in iphoto on my MAC running OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. I am running XBMC Frodo on a Raspberry Pi with the Iphoto addon installed but I don't understand how to set up the path to the Mac. The Mac has an internal address of 192.168.1.9 . I don't know the IP of the Pi at the moment but it is on the same subnet so it is 192.168.1.xxx. I have read through everything I can find by doing a google search about this. I feel like a real Dumb A&$ but I just can't figure this out. Thanks for any help any one can give me.

My addon doesn't use any of iPhoto's built-in sharing features. You need to share out, from within OSX, the "iPhoto Library" folder on the filesystem using SMB, NFS, AFS, etc.
RE: [RELEASE] iPhoto Plugin Addon for XBMC - sidewalksuper - 2013-07-05
I'm trying to install your addon for a friend of mine but I can't seem to get it working.
Everytime I try to load up the database it shows import failed.
It's a Windows 7 x64 box, running XBMC 12.2, connecting via SMB to his Mac's iPhoto 9.4.3 library
Everything in terms of SMB looks fine, I also tried to copy the iPhoto folder locally and it gave me the same error.
Log says this (after a clean install of the plugin):

What is the best way to use this in my Mac with Aperture <-> XBMC linux HTPC setup?
- Share Aperture file over NFS/SMB on the Macbook and require the Mac to be on (guess this is fairly easy)
- Sync my Aperture files to my Synology and share it there
- ...

Not sure there is really a 'best way'. Whatever is easiest and works best for you will do fine.
I personally have my library stored on my file server (a Linux box, but it doesn't really matter) shared via SMB. iPhoto and Aperture both just point directly to it.

I need the xbmc.log file from your user's Library/Logs folder.
Second, is your iPhoto Library managed? Or are the photos referenced?

I'm not sure which link you're referring to, but you should use the one in the official repository at this point.

Is it possible to view Aperture videos with this plugin ?
RE: [RELEASE] iPhoto Plugin Addon for XBMC - whph - 2013-08-18
Hi all, hi Jingai,
I'm running XBMC 12.2 Frodo on a OSX 10.8.4 iMac and have the iPhoto Add-on 2.1.6 installed. I do not use iPhoto, but Aperture. I have set the path to the Aperture library in the settings panel - it is a referenced library, with the pictures on a NAS.
It wasn't clear to me how to write the "Local root path to Masters". I set it to smb://NAS/Public/FOTOS/. The FOTOS folder contains subfolders with the respective pictures. What is meant by "Rewrite root path as"? These two settings do not to seem to be the issue.
The main problem is that the add-on is looking for the iPhoto library (which does not even exist) instead of the Aperture library that I have specified. So, the update library command yields the error "iPhoto Library import failed" followed by "iPhoto database reset".
The add-on detects an Aperture library version 3.4.5, but then things go astray.
Could someone please look into this an maybe suggest a solution? I would really like to use this add-on for my pictures.
Thank you!
Raphael

I'm honestly not sure. Pretty sure it works for iPhoto, so I'd guess it should work for Aperture too. I don't use either program for videos though, so I'm not positive.
Best advice is to simply try it. If it doesn't work, send me your log.
