Thanks, but if it involves me changing lines in the code then that's way above my pay level.

No, just that you're (probably) not alone and it's been an issue for a while, the cause yet to be determined.

1121 did seemingly introduce some weirdness. After I applied the update and the system rebooted, I got a quick OE message saying "waiting for network" for about 2 seconds, then KODI started.

However, I use a wired connection w/ static IP address & my network connection was not affected. I did notice my wireless was set to active, & I thought I turned that off because I don't use it.

I rolled back to 1119 but the post-reboot-OE message saying "waiting for network" for about 2 seconds issue persisted. Again, my network connection is unaffected.

Sorry to nag, but no audio when using a relatively common video container/codec combination is a pretty serious issue, particularly since this is regression compared to 15.2.

Is there more I can do to help?

(2015-11-22, 19:59)mcelliott Wrote: Okay, here are logs with the latest build. Let me know if you cannot access them.

Pretty much all of my videos are mp4 containers, x264 video and mp3 audio (encoded with Handbrake).

On my GigaByte E350N PC running OpenElec, they play fine with OpenElec 6 (Kodi 15.2).

Updating to the newer builds and video plays fine but with no sound.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tbmkze1wo2oumcr/log-2015-11-22-17.00.17.zip?dl=0

HTPC is connected to TV via HDMI and then from TV to soundbar with optical.

UI sounds play fine, and live/recorded TV also play fine with sound, so the problem does seem limited.

Best wishes,

Mark

I'll upload a new build tomorrow as there have been several audio-related updates in the last few days, although based on the initial testing in @fritsch's thread it does appear that Dolby TrueHD may be a problem right now.

If you continue to have problem with the new build tomorrow, it might be an idea to upload a short sample (< 100MB) of a video that demonstrates the problem.

Edit: Also, here you mention you are using build #1117 - is this when the problem started? So no problems with the previous build #1112? Which is the last build that worked?

The log is so full of network errors - that anything worked at all makes me wonder. Can you post a 50 MB sample of that file for reproducing?

Thanks!

I haven't been trying these test builds routinely. I did try one previous build and it also had no sound from mp4 files with mp3 audio. I can try to pin this down over the weekend.

Regarding the network errors, after a load of hassle with my network, I thought I had finally got it sorted. I am also using a Raspberry Pi 2 with OpenElec 6 on it, and everything is working perfectly, albeit a little slow. What sort of issues do the network errors in the logs point to? Maybe there is something I can fix, although as I pointed out, live and recorded TV (MediaPortal back end) play fine.

Best wishes,

Mark

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for Generic/Nvidia_Legacy (Kodi 16.0) - fritsch - 2015-11-25

Network errors: No connection to internet, even no connection to local files.

Without a sample no one can help.

That's very strange. I will check again and make sure I am providing logs with my latest network changes.

The file I am trying to play is on a PC on my home network. However, the fact that the video plays fine, just no sound, would suggest that there is no fundamental network issue. The same would apply to recorded TV playback which is also across the same network (different share on same PC).

I'm not disputing your reading of the logs at all. Just surprised, and I've tried this several times with the same result.

I will test again with a local file on the OpenElec box to see if that makes a difference, and provide a sample as you request.

Just to let you know,I have also found that I am unable to log in to my Pandora account with your builds, "cannot authenticate" message from Pandora while I can log in to Pandora with the latest builds from Her Fritsch. I still go to Openelec settings and check active in the wireless network with either of the builds.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for Generic/Nvidia_Legacy (Kodi 16.0) - fritsch - 2015-11-25

Fritsch stopped playing the bumping game and syncing with OpenELEC ...
