It appears to be caused by 2 busy dialogs occurring (known issue in Kodi 18-19), disable Settings - General - Refresh after watching if it's enabled.
Not much else I can do to resolve it currently, sorry.

They appear to be working here, might be a temporary issue on their end atm? If you have multiple accounts at activation, might be worth checking pid2955583 and the post following it.

Strange I always had SSL authentication off and it still failed with invalid key error, creating a new API key was the only thing that fix it in my case.

Everything working as normal now. No extra add-ons needed.
Uninstalled it reinstalled it (may not be needed)
Original API keys pasted in. Just did https://www.google.com/device and working as normal.

If I don't uninstall and reinstall, how do I enter the code ? If I do uninstall and reinstall, will I have to modify all the settings all over again ?
My keys are 3 years old. Are they too old to work now ?

An easy way is insert a blank flash drive, then using Libreelec file manager copy settings.xml from storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.youtube/ to drive. Edit settings.xml on PC save and return to Libreelec using the same procedure reversed. See screenshot

They should remain, but it's been a while since I've done an uninstall (i use symbolic links).
There are a couple ways you can paste your keys easily;

Option 1. Using Method #1 from wiki above and send the keys using Kodi's web interface https://snipboard.io/D7BpHA.jpg , or a remote (mobile or web browser extension) that support sending text.
Option 2. Method #2 from the wiki above, disable the feature after complete.
The keys could be disabled, others have mentioned having to create new keys.

I uninstalled the YouTube Addon and then reinstalled it, leaving my personal settings remain. I still have the same issue. I can use "My Subscriptions" but there are no thumbnails. "Watch Later" and "Subscriptions" both have the pop-up invalid API Key error message. What I don't understand is that my Windows 10 machine running Kodi and the YouTube addon works just fine. It has the exact same API Keys. Why would these 3-year old keys work with Windows / Kodi but not Libreelec / Kodi ?
