RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-20 Make it crash, yes. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - mochour - 2014-05-20 Faster than expected :-( xbmc@galadriel:~$ cat xbmc_crashlog-20140520_190842.log | pastebinit http://paste.ubuntu.com/7493838/ RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-20 Good, we have the same error again, that's fine. Quote:19:08:41 T:139789810513664 DEBUG: CVideoReferenceClock: Received RandR event 89 The bad one is. We won't fix that for gotham stable, it's too intrusive. Please update your xbmc to xbmc-fernetmenta-master that you find on the first post. If this error (or a similar) will still occur, we need to debug into more detail. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - mochour - 2014-05-20 ok, I'll post results. Thanks M RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - mochour - 2014-05-22 So far no crash ... Which is good. I think that major problem is in merge of your repository to the official one. I have used xbmc-fernetmenta-master till release of Gotham 13.0 with "almost no" problems but after switch to the Gotham crashes happend every day. I guess that mpeg2 VDPAU encoding is somehow broken in Gotham but I am not an expert. The configuration option that allows switch off the mpeg2 VDPAU encoding is gone :-(. I wanted to configure my HTPC with a "stable" release of the software i.e. kernel 3.13.0 and xbmc Gotham, apparently it is not possible. Do you plan to build a stable release or what is your release strategy? H RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-22 No it's not broken in gotham. There are some Radeon chips out there - that just don't want to do it correctly, cause they have no internal HW to do so. V12 did not have hw acceleration for radeon oss at all ... All those fernetmenta changes will be in v14 and already are in OpenELEC. So if you want something stable -> OpenELEC is your choice. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Jeff512 - 2014-05-23 Thanks for a great howto, it works nicely with my setup. Of course things rarely work 100% and I do have one small problem, when using the 3.14.2-amdfixes5+ kernel my TV refuses to display the 59.94Hz mode. If I switch to this mode using xrandr the screen goes blank and the same thing happens when XBMC plays videos with either 29.97 fps or 59.94 fps. This mode does work if I use the 3.13.0-24 kernel and all other 1080p modes work fine on both kernels. I mostly followed this howto except for installing some lubuntu stuff like lightdm. Here is some info which may help The TV (Panasonic P42V20B) is connected to XBMC via a Denon AVR-4310, but the problem still occurs if I connect directly to the TV. dmesg for 3.13.0-24 kernel dmesg for 3.14.2-amdfixes5+ kernel Xorg.0.log for 3.13.0-24 kernel Xorg.0.log for 3.14.2-amdfixes5+ kernel mesa info xbmc-xrandr output RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-23 Upgrade to kernel 3.15-rc6 and see if the issure persists. Thanks, that kernel worked RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-24 Nice - cause this one will then be the first kernel, that has everything we need fully vanilla :-) RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - smv1210 - 2014-05-24 (2014-05-23, 07:09)fritsch Wrote: Upgrade to kernel 3.15-rc6 and see if the issure persists. But my system (AMD A6-1450 APU) crashes with this kernel all the time Aslo, it seems that the current OSS driver does not support video accereration for that APU (00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Temash [Radeon HD 8250/8280G]) in full scope yet? RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-24 A6 have big problems currently. File a bug at the bugtracker of freedesktop and see to provide all data. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Spacedementia87 - 2014-05-25 I have been running this with no issues for weeks now. Suddenly today xbmc crashes as soon as it starts and this cycles. crashlog: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7515106/ RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - fritsch - 2014-05-25 Quote:12:19:04 T:140123022808832 ERROR: SQL: The database disk image is malformed Nohting to do with that howto. Your database is nuts. RE: Radeon OSS with vdpau (howto) - Spacedementia87 - 2014-05-25 How do I fix that then? |
