RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - weust - 2015-05-31 Seems Intel has a problem atm as o can't download the documentation for the 5i3RYK. Anyway, what I read is that the coloured C header block is for two USB ports, nothing else. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - T-Nation - 2015-05-31 Sorry edited my post before I saw your reply. yes their tech docs are down for some reason... I had to dig up an older one I downloaded a while back. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - T-Nation - 2015-05-31 Not sure where your looking but the link for your board layout says header "c" is front panel. without having one in front of me I'm not sure. even the online pics I've looked up shows the multi colored header just like my nuc is the front panels header. sorry man-o wish I could help more. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - weust - 2015-06-02 Hmm, I had replied to this yesterday... I was wrong about the Front panel headers. Somehow I mixed that up with the Front USB headers. So, pin 6 is what I need on the coloured header block. Connecting the USB pins is another challenge as the 5th gen NUC no longer has a nice 2.0mm header block, but a 1.25mm header block. http://downloadmirror.intel.com/24565/eng/NUC5i5RYB_NUC5i3RYB_TechProdSpec01.pdf page 39 shows the USB block as E. Top left on the below picture. Not sure what it's called, so I have been unlucky in finding the correct connector for it. I tried "1.25mm header 8 pin" or molex instead of header, but can't find anything on it on ebay. Shipping to Europe is excellent too. That will save me a lot of fiddling with the soldering iron RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - zeff1978 - 2015-06-30 Would be great to see some picture(s) and read couple of words from somebody who succeed. Thx. in advance. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - weust - 2015-06-30 Will do that once I got it in. Should be early next week I suppose. Only has to come from the UK, to NL. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - zeff1978 - 2015-07-07 That would be awesome!. Thx. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - weust - 2015-07-07 Funny that you replied today, as I got it in today with the mail :-) Big bubble envelope, with another bubble wrapped plastic sealed bag with the very small component in it. I will probably work on it this weekend as I need to solder on it as well, and the weather is still warm enough to not want to hang above a soldering iron right now... I'll make photos of course. RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - weust - 2015-10-24 Been a while, very busy here. The original cable I got didn't match the USB header, so I got a different header connector. But that didn't work at all. These days there is a new cable from Pule Eight for the 5th gen NUC. Just need to solder the wires to the correct pins, which I did wrong with my modified cable... Anyway, it sorta is working except using Linux, Kodi will first show the main menu screen with the wrong date, then switch video to the correct menu with correct time. Except, it then won't show anything at all anymore. Need to figure that one out now... Damn annoying. Are you using the Kodi plugin for this? I just installed on my 5th gen running Win10 x64, and it kind of works. However it seems determined to shut down the PC and TV when I quit Kodi! RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - jhoffman100 - 2016-07-09 Hi all, I just came across this thread (new to the forum). I just posted a review/how-to on the GoRite CEC lid for the Intel NUC. It uses the Pulse-Eight adapter: https://techsterweb.wordpress.com/2016/07/08/gorite-cec-lid/ RE: Intel NUC HDMI-CEC Adapter from Pulse-eight.com - jhoffman100 - 2016-07-09 The one I used was for 6th gen NUCs. I also have the lid for the 5th gen models (the one that requires soldering). I may still give that one a try. |
