HOW-TO:Modify the video cache (wiki) Code: <advancedsettings> RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-07 Hi everybody, Another try, this time as suggested on a portable, full stock install. Experienced stuttering but no crash (network file). Local playback runs fine. Here is the log: https://paste.kodi.tv/nepikamuhi.kodi I will try and post questions on the LimeWire/unRaid forum as well - if these issues are solved eventually, it might be helpful for other users Thanks again for your help and advice! RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-08 ooh i'm afraid not, thanks for pointing that out - i missed your post because i kept this page tabbed and did not refresh before posting, sorry about that. I'll test the video cache mod ASAP!! RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-09 Hi again, I modded the video cache as suggested on my regular install (not the portable one) - playback froze (without stutter) then stopped completely and jumped back to dashboard. Here is my log: https://paste.kodi.tv/nemaxujemo.kodi Next i will have to try portable/modded. Thanks again! RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-10 Of course you might be right, but before i've had so many troubles, i could play just about anything RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - PatK - 2020-07-10 (2020-07-10, 00:00)Yarok Wrote: could play just about anythingNot 10bit.BluRay.8CH.x265.HEVC with Leia, you might look at the UHD threads or Matrix for that, but it's an old 2 core Pentium. RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-15 Hi @PatK , i could get an Intel i5-3470 3.20 GHz Quad Core 6Mb SmartCache for cheap, do you think it would help with my issue? RE: Stuttering/crashing video playback with network files - Yarok - 2020-07-16 30-ish euro ^^ but i'd rather try and fix/improve on what i have instead of buying new stuff. In any case, i have another machine that could benefit from the i5 i mentioned so i bought it anyway, installed it and gave it a try yesterday - coincidence or not, i managed to have a smooth and uneventful playback of a feature-length movie. Still need to test it further though.
