RE: HiMedia Q10 Pro with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - PJDavis1970 - 2016-04-23

Now that I have had plenty of time to test loads of things I am having a few problems.

TV : Samsung 55js8500
HDMI cable one supplied with Q10 Pro
TV has all HDMI sockets enabled for 10bit
No usb devices ( apart from external hard drives ) connected. (I noticed a post on futeko forums someone had issues with keyboard dongle connected)

- When trying to set Video colour space & HDMI deep colour to YCbCr444 10Bit it comes back with not supported.
- 1080p MKV movies staying at 60hz on playback but 3d movies switch to 24hz

You had mentioned 'Oblivion' before, which did play for me. It's a straight disc rip to MKV (via MakeMKV). 'SW: The Force Awakens' MKV also plays fine. Are yours folder rips for both? Maybe Q10 Pro has a problem w/that?

yes, both rips
but they are played fine with other players, so it should be fine with q10 pro too
i dont like that !

Have you tried the 10bit version of Oblivion ?

RE: HiMedia Q10 Pro with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - hdmkv - 2016-04-25

No, mine's an 8-bit. But, just tried these two 10-bit anime files and here's what I'm getting...

- Main 10@L4 HEVC 1080p 23.976 4:2:0 MKV = perfect playback
- High [email protected] AVC 1080p 23.976 4:2:0 AVI = plays fine, but some macroblocking and pixellation in certain parts of the picture

In any case, @Skank's issue may be related to BD folder playback, BDMV structure. So, possibly a container issue. Or, a less-than-perfect rip.

Plays perfect by Q5/M3 and intel nuc
but not by Q10 pro

This is an issue of q10 pro !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - UHD TV - 2016-04-26

The DTS-HD.MA.7.1.mkv version plays perfect of that movie, and yes I quickly read the post and just realized @Skank was on about the rip :/

*thx for the heads up hdmkv

You may want to edit that filename as it reveals a source you probably don't want to advertise here. Issue @Skank is referring to is a folder rip of a disc (vs. ISO or MKV).

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - DrPepper - 2016-04-27

I have a question . I have an Bluray Disc on my drive as bdmv structure, so no ISO.

In Kodi with the wrapper i get an error message "Video Error".
If i open the same Disc in the Media Center of the Q10 pro , it plays just fine.

Any clue what this could be ?

Thanks

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - hdmkv - 2016-04-27

May be same issue as what @Skank brought up... Q10 Pro having trouble playing BD folder structures. I added this on HiMedia's to-do list; no idea if/when they'll address.

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - DrPepper - 2016-04-27

Ok , one more that i don't know.

Is it possible to use subtitles that you download via Kodi , or let Kodi manage the subtitles part ?

Ah , and also hdmkv, do you know how to root the Q10 pro ?

Download ImgBurn and use the option "Create image file from file/folders" and drag the BDMV folder (and any other folders on root) , into the source box of ImgBurn. Set File System to UDF and UDF Revision to 2.50
Set your destination and create the .ISO
See how that works when you load it up through Q10 Pro
