I don't think there is any consumer display that is available in the market that has even 70% Rec. 2020 coverage or 100% DCI-P3. Samsung UHD's seem to have better coverage for both color spaces. I will try to post some pictures from Exodus: Gods and Kings UHD Blu-ray and trailer played on Samsung UHD Blu-ray player. I am not sure whether my camera can capture the wider color gamut.

Right, I haven't been able to find any HDR samples at true 23.976. And, I have no way to test they'd actually play at 23.976, unless I test on my 1080p-only PJ.

im just saying if the box is outputting video like in hdmkvs screenshot or like Kodi does. then its not ok and basically un-watchable.

With the 'Life of Pi' 4K HDR clip, colors seemed accurate, the way it looked w/BD rip from what I recall.

Exodus HDR isn't playing with the Wrapper, only Sound , no Picture. However with the Internal Kodi Player it works just fine.

Highly doubt that it's playing properly in Kodi with the internal player..

@DrPepper, I don't even bother w/Kodi's internal player w/Q10 Pro as its bragging points obviously revolve around the HiSilicon player. Wrapper should work for the 'Exodus' HDR clip as w/any video; it's working for me. @dukester, so I did test the 'Exodus' 4K sample on my 4K display, and also compared w/the BD rip, and w/the HDR fix f/w, the color palette looked very similar, just with better PQ as expected in the 4K version.

@Skank, appears HDR will easily beat out Dolby Vision for wider adoption, but @wesk05 can speak to this more.

maybe the'll send you a HDR TV for testing purposes Wink

im debating on ordering one of these but ill probably hold off for now and let the HDR UHD dust settle a bit first..

but Kodis internal player doesnt support 10 bit color. so while i get that its playing smoothly with little cpu usage.. its not showing the correct colorspace unless something changed in the last month or two. this was stated by Kodi Devs.

Hello,

I received my Q10 pro and i’m very surprised by the quality VS price.

I have already an q5 4k3d and it seems to me that the Picture Quality is better with Q10 pro, and the express engine v2 have more options.

I choose output video 2160p 24hz, and all my videos are smooth

Looking at your photo in the previous page, you have a Shield as well like me. Aren't you finding Q10Pro 4K playback smoother, w/PQ even better than Shield's?

RE: HiMedia Q5/Q10 Pro (2016) with Kodi: Reviews & Utilization - OlivierQC - 2016-04-29

My minix x8-h had a better PQ than nvidia shield tv in my opinion, the Q5 4k3d or Q10 pro are much better.

Hi Oliver,

See that your in Montreal, I was born and lived there for 22 years before moving to Ontario. I believe you mentioned before that you purchased your Q10 Pro from Sam at IMAX in Toronto. That's where I purchased mine.

I may be wrong but you mentioned you could test HDR on your Sony XBR65X930C, from what I read the XBR65X930C isn't compatible with HDR, but Sony expects to release a firmware in the near future to upgrade your 930C to HDR.
I also own a Sony, my is the XBR65X900B, one year older than yours and I love the set, unfortunately my Sony cannot be upgraded to HDR. Think I'll wait for another year and see what Sony has to offer at that time. Would love to get an OLED but they are so expensive
compared to LED T.V.

Anyways, here's the Sony website where you can find latest firmware and your T.V. specs if your interested.
