I was going to buy the new Intel NUC but I'm confused after reading everything that I might not be able to use it for that?

All of the Kaby Lake boxes support ATMOS, DTS:X, nd 10bit, the only issue is HDR is not working at the moment on Windows w/Kodi

PS: HDR file will playback but the metadata in the HDR file will not output to your HDR TV

I'm looking for a new htpc. The beebox-s 7100 has 2 hdmi outputs, as I understood a 1.4 and a 2.0 hdmi. Is there with the 1.4 hdmi also the hd audio passthrough problems or only with the 2.0 with dp converter?

With the HDMI 1.4 Port HD Audio should work without any issues. I asked in a german testing Blog. http://www.technikaffe.de/anleitung-403-asrock_beebox_s_7100u_im_test_unter_windows_10_und_libreelec
I will get mine tomorrow or saturday. Then I can tell you more.

No issue with HDMI 1.4 on Windows 10.

Yes!

It doesn't work for me. I get an error when I even check the current fw version.

You have to use the HDMI 2.0 port and set the resolution in Windows 10 on the max possible (4k)

It still doesn't work:

Start ISP...
Current Firmware Version: N/A
ISP initialization failed!
System Reset ...Not available!
ISP failed! (1)
ISP failed! (1)

Do you know what it fixes?

RE: Intel Kaby Lake Hardware - Comp1demon - 2017-02-27

Anyone using an i& Nuc with HDMI 2.0 or Dual HDMI (either 2 HDMI ports or HDMI + Thunderbolt to HDMI?)

Was wondering about this?

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/nuc/nuc-kit-nuc7i7bnh.html

Will it allow 4K, HDR and MVC 3D?

4K Yes
HDR No
MVC 3D your best option will be the AsRock Beebox S7100

Curious why no HDRHuh

Kaby Lake using edge browser, Netflix is supposed to allow HDR.

If yes, why would other HDR content not work, (such as the HDR demos - like the LG chess demo, or Amazon HDR content)?
