RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - xodi - 2018-03-06

I'm using Kodi 18 and the YouTube addon from the official repo. The YouTube addon works well before, but recently, it plays video about 1 minute and starts buffering, and the buffering seems never complete, so I have to stop the playback. This happens for all videos. I also have YouTube app installed at the same device, there is no any buffering. My bandwidth is enough for play video without buffering.

 I have gigabit internet and still experience buffering from time to time. I don't think it's due to the YouTube addon.

I rarely see buffering, YouTube addon works very well before, this buffering just appears recently. It buffers for all videos I played. As I said, there is no buffering for the YouTube app in the same device to play same video I tested. I'm not sure whether Kodi 18 update something related with this.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - liebezeit - 2018-03-07

For a day or two, it seemed the bug in which I am constantly logged out was going to be ameliorated by the new feature of storing login and api keys. I was able to restore both of these a couple times and it was heaven. But it's now back to the old behavior of just plain logging me out, at least one every few days and sometimes more than once a day. I see the "run setup wizard" screen once again and curse the Kodi gods. This behavior is experienced with all old versions as well as 6.0.0~alpha7 and the latest 5.5.1.

I think it would be great to have a possibility to use this plugin with MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT.
In families people are interested to switch between at least two accounts.
Are there any plans to provide such a feature?

Same here, 1G internet but still Youtube from time to time needs to buffer... It does that on Android (app), RPi3 (Kodi/LibreELEC), Linux (webbrowser) and on Windows (webbrowser).
So buffering is definitely not caused by the Youtube addon but rather by Google's Youtube data servers.

On a side note, I'll update to beta3 now, have not experienced any problems with beta2 at all.

@rivera : Have you tried looking here? https://kodi.wiki/view/Profiles
Kodi support multiple profiles - you can try using that to establish the desired effects...

 No, it is a different use case.
We are using one common profile and would appreciate sharing videos with family members.
Surely this feature may be useful for lots of people.

Please see my post #418 - is anyone else having this problem?
Any suggestions welcomed.
Much thanks.

 Are you obtain the request about restore api_keys.json ? Immediatelly after this you see the wizard and you need to relogin right ?

Use the latest beta3.....the alpha7 it's "old". If it's not the solution for you........you need to step "backward" to 5.5.1 that's not have the stored api keys feature.

If don't resolve......you need try to CATCH a debug log and report here to see exactly what's append.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - darebee - 2018-03-08

I'm using Android Kodi 18 daily and about 2 weeks ago the YouTube Add-On started to get stuck in an endless "Execute setup-wizard?" loop? What do I need to do to resolve this? Anyone have ideas? I searched the thread and didn't see anyone else having this issue.

This was happening with 5.5.1 as well. I upgraded to 6.0.0 Beta3 and it still happens.

Thanks,
Darebee

Google translator:
I have the same problem. After installing 6.0.0~beta3, I see this message very often. All options are returned to default. It's very annoying.

Is the API key options leave blank or enter everything manually?

RPi3, LibreELEC 8.2.3, YT 6.0.0~beta3

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DjDiabolik - 2018-03-09

@drrak  and @darebee  are you read my last reply before yours ?

@DjDiabolik

"Are you obtain the request about restore api_keys.json ? Immediatelly after this you see the wizard and you need to relogin right ?"
No.

"Use the latest beta3.....the alpha7 it's "old". If it's not the solution for you........you need to step "backward" to 5.5.1 that's not have the stored api keys feature."
First, I used version 5.5.1 with assigned API keys. I used them a year or more and it was ok. The problem is that the next day YT stops working and freezes the entire Kodi. I had to reboot RPi. Btw, I'm using Kodi 24h/day.
Then I tried YT 6.0.0 ~ beta3 and I had a similar problem like @darebee. After entering the API keys manually, I no longer see the message "Execute setup-wizard". Unfortunately, Kodi is still freezing like in version 5.5.1.

"If don't resolve......you need try to CATCH a debug log and report here to see exactly what's append."
I can't, because I have porn plugs etc. bad things Smile

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-03-10

I've updated post #2 with ~beta4
  •     [fix] settings being reset, introduced in v6.0.0 alphas, use onNotification instead of onSettingsChanged
  •     [upd] improve login logging

@markius It was what I needed but the log didn't contain enough information to pin down the issue, can you try to reproduce the issue and debug_log (wiki) with ~beta4. I've added additional logging of the responses in that area that will hopefully shed some light on what is happening.

@meNick, @liebezeit, @darebee, @drrak That issue is hopefully resolved in ~beta4

@rivera see Issue #128

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - meNick - 2018-03-10

@ anxdpanic - Sorry but (see my post 418) this does not fix my problem as I described it.
After installing Beta4 and exiting Kodi 17.6: If I restart Kodi and run Youtube then it wants me to sign in again (from scratch).
If I look at the account all my personal API info is there so I would expect not to have to sign in again from scratch.

Much thanks for all your help and work anxdpanic  Smile
