The "foundation" are coming across like a right bunch of stuck up bell ends ..

Your first mistake was thinking that the devs care about how popular Kodi is, especially if the popularity comes from a bunch of pirates watching crappy streams.

To add, especially if the popularity comes from a bunch of people who neither now nor ever plan on helping make the software better, whether through software development patches or whatever else.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, you mean that open source software developers aren't motivated by gaining market share and making money!? But if you double the sales of your free software, you'll make DOUBLE NOTHING! That's twice as much! How can that not be the prime motivation!?

Surely they aren't just enjoying the technical challenge of the project and/or getting satisfaction from the knowledge that their work allows users like me to enjoy their home theater setups that primarily focus on locally stored files!?

Well i for myself woud be more happy with an empty forum here. I don't care a single bit how much people are using Kodi. I do it mostly for myself and maintaining a skillset that not much people can present on the job market. But thats my personal opinion. All that the pirate stuff did to kodi is that team members need to work(!!!!) now on legal stuff. Nice...

I note the YouTube 'megastars' are still blatantly using the name Kodi in their videos.
Still gaining a livelihood for themselves from Kodi is what irritates me.
Why don't these middle aged gentlemen have hobbies or proper jobs?

@samtheman1337

Thanks for the petition, these people need to be brought to task!

USA seller promoting on radio and live events. Advertises kodi as a piracy platform. Builds kodi from source and modifies it specifically for dragon box. Doesn't change the name and doesn't follow the GPL. Infringing on your trademark all over their website, Facebook, and box.
