RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - HILFER - 2018-03-26

Hi all:

I've been searching for a solution everywhere but so far I didn't find any good solution for  this problem.

I'm always getting an error (login exception  ( 401)  invalid_ client ) when I try to login my account.

Can someone please give me  a solutuin for  this problem  ??

My Kodi is  Krypton 17.3   - youtube version 6.0.0 beta 6

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - anxdpanic - 2018-03-26

@DjDiabolik InputStream Helper is required only for Purchases, it is used to install Widevine.

@HILFER The exception you provided is incomplete, see the first part of post #250 that should narrow down the issue for you.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Steph09 - 2018-04-02

Over the weekend I decided to install & test the Kodi 18 alpha & at the same time also updated to the latest beta version of this addon & suddenly on this addon the watched state indicators don't work.

The little tick doesn't appear next to stuff i've watched & it doesn't show or resume the stuff i've half watched.

It works for local files, Just not the addon. I didn't have time to switch back to old versions last night for testing & won't be able to do that until I get back later so thought i'd post to see if anyone else had similar problems?

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - Amedeus - 2018-04-06

I hope this is the place for this. As of last night, the YouTube add-on no longer works for me at all. When I try to open it, whether normally or through a playlist I've added to my Kodi Favorites menu, it tries loading for a few seconds and then kicks back and error instead. I was initially on v5.5.1, tried rolling back to 5.5.0, and then tried updating to 6.0.0~beta8. Didn't work on any of them.

I'm on a Fire TV Stick running Android 5.1.1, and using Kodi 17.6.

Here is just the error: https://pastebin.com/0HhdTyX9
And here is the full log: https://pastebin.com/D6hS9Dz3

Ah, found it in an older thread for this add-on: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=267160&pid=2469132#pid2469132

I believe anxdpanic is in this thread too, so if you see this, thank you! YouTube works again!

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DjDiabolik - 2018-04-07

@anxdpanic
Sorry for double post.......... but i need to know if the live stream it's works:
I have also right now enable the DASH and his proxy....... try to launch a live feed and it's start. Apparently there's no buffering do and the video it's stop immediatelly after one or two seconds..........

On Log it's appears this:
https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/5wzPbjBGg4/

I have tryed to re-launch many times............ also sometime whit dash disabled but in this case i obtain same result but whit a still image. I can see the cache fill at 0 and all it's closed and i'm back to video list.

All on latest OSMC............

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - registeringisnotfun - 2018-04-08

can anyone please address the issue of live tv channels on youtube only playing for a few seconds and then kicking you out.  i tried turning on the MPEG-DASH but it makes no difference.  This happens for many arabic live tv stations on YT.  This has been an issue for several weeks now so hoping someone can look at this.  I have version 5.5.1 on Kodi 17.6 on a windows 10 pc.

Thanks for the efforts.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - dabisu - 2018-04-08

I am noticing that the grabbed thumbnails are rather low resolution, they appear very pixelated (at least on my 4k TV). I have configured in my advancedsettings.xml:

xml:
<imageres>1080</imageres>
<fanartres>1080</fanartres>

But I am not sure if the YouTube plug-in uses these values.

Is the pixelated thumbnail a limitation of the youtube API? Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Thanks for all the hard work!

Youtube supports (Unless it has changed since april last year) a "maxres" size compared to the  "high" and "medium" sizes that the Youtube plugin supports, examples of the sizes here.
Edit: The "maxres" size is only available for HD videos.

RE: YouTube Plug-in Thread - DjDiabolik - 2018-04-09

@blueribb and @registeringisnotfun

Same my question............ also the last dev same result. Live stream apparently it's not more working.

I have look on my OSMC setup......... in latest stable the inputstream it's 2.0.19. I see on github it's a very old version......... there's no way on my case to update whitout the developers do this Smile
