Apologies I missed the ATI4350 part, if DTS isn't working over hdmi then its going to be your side not this build of xbmc, if it was this build of xbmc it would be everyone that's effected - hades_2100 - 2009-12-19 >>X<<' Wrote:Apologies I missed the ATI4350 part, if DTS isn't working over hdmi then its going to be your side not this build of xbmc, if it was this build of xbmc it would be everyone that's effected Thanks. I also mentioned that DTS works fine on the built-in dvdplayer. But not the dsplayer. I don't know what to do with that information... Does that mean it's a problem in my setup, or I did reinstall the ATI HDMI Audio drivers after XBMC. Made no difference. And I do get audio through HDMI, just not DTS in dsplayer. hades - tiben20 - 2009-12-19 hades_2100 Wrote:Thanks. I also mentioned that DTS works fine on the built-in dvdplayer. But not the dsplayer. I had everything working fine at one point, then it just started outputting white noise with all DTS .mkvs. This with Tiben's build and the regular newer builds (b1,b2,RC1) - christoofar - 2009-12-19 christoofar Wrote:So any idea if this is considered a "known bug" by the developers? I decided to try this latest build Tiben made as a last resort. Installed it & then reinstalled HDMI drivers yet again, and lo & behold...it works! Even DSPlayer is working for me now, big reduction in CPU load, now averaging 5-6% & PQ matches the default, no more washed out contrast. Beautiful! Many thanks to you Tiben, for your dedication & hard work in your "spare" time. Still unable to enable Library Mode, is greyed out. Very strange. - tiben20 - 2009-12-19 christoofar Wrote:Well I've had a suprise here. I decided to try this latest build Tiben made as a last resort. Does that mean it's a problem in my setup, or If it was a DSPlayer problem DTS wouldn't work for 99% of those running it the fact DVDPlayer works is kind of meaningless, I'm sure your track down the problem drivers is the first place to look considering others have had the same and that was the cause - hades_2100 - 2009-12-19 tiben20 Wrote:Dvdplayer and Dsplayer are from far away from using the same audio rendering system I realize that. But given that it works with one, I should be able to conclude that the system CAN output DTS, the receiver CAN recognize it, and it works. So, what can I try to do to get it to work with dsplayer? hades - christoofar - 2009-12-19 tiben20 Wrote:its normal if your using a newer databaseThis & me forgetting to rescan everything after deleting all databases earlier - christoofar - 2009-12-20 I seem to have a new problem, XBMC crashing while playing music in party mode. I scanned my media folders, so Library Mode is back in play. But loading songs in Party Mode will start playing the first one, but as it gets to the end , it either goes into pause, from which I can't change songs or get anything to play, or more often it just does hard XBMC crash. error log: http://pastebin.ca/1720923 Here's another log that I stripped all the Library updating text out of for less non-vital info. I started XBMC, when to Music, selected Party Mode, it started playing it started Sgt. Pepper's (reprise) which is about 1:59 long, then XBMC crashes before the song finishes - tiben20 - 2009-12-20 hades_2100 Wrote:I realize that. But given that it works with one, I should be able to conclude that the system CAN output DTS, the receiver CAN recognize it, and it works. I dont really have the knowledge to fix this and also i dont have any hardware that i can test to get it working proprely so if someone want to step up and post a patch i would be happy to put it in my player if its working correctly. ***I just updated my branch to the last version of the trunk. Ill post a build when ever i got some time. - tonyt - 2009-12-20 Hi, new to the forums, and pretty new to xbmc First off I'd like to say massive thank you for developing this branch, it's made xbmc a viable htpc for me as my current hardware was unable to play 1080p content. Now the cpu rarely hits 10%. Many thanks. I do have a couple of problems i'd like to report, but both have been mentioned before, but perhaps the log below can help My current htpc is xp sp3 with a P4 3ghz processor and I have an ATI HD4670 AGP card I have the issue with auto switching to 1080p/24, but I'm getting around this by changing the PC refresh rate and then launching xbmc (with auto refresh switching turned off) The main problem i have is after playing something in dsplayer when i try to play something else, or resume, i get no player come up. I took a debug log (below) and it shows what happens when i play something the 1st time, but when i try to play something else or resume the log only shows the 1st and last lines, everything in between is missing. Other than that the logs are identical Don't know if this helps, but am happy to do any testing required Again, many thanks for this Tony 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1633857536 DEBUG: CGUIInfoManager::SetCurrentMovie(S:\Blade Runner\Blade Runner.mkv) 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1633529856 DEBUG: Activating window ID: 12005 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1633349632 DEBUG: Checking if window ID 12005 is locked. 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1633755136 DEBUG: ------ Window Deinit (MyVideoNav.xml) ------ 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646968832 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (VideoFullScreen.xml) ------ 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646968832 INFO: Loading skin file: VideoFullScreen.xml 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646997504 DEBUG: Load VideoFullScreen.xml: 3.45ms 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646997504 DEBUG: Alloc resources: 3.59ms (3.58 ms skin load) 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646997504 INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOSD.xml 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1647448064 DEBUG: Load VideoOSD.xml: 12.74ms 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646571520 DEBUG: Alloc resources: 10.63ms (0.00 ms skin load) 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646571520 INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOSDSettings.xml 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1646694400 DEBUG: Load VideoOSDSettings.xml: 10.24ms 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1645805568 DEBUG: Alloc resources: 11.22ms (0.00 ms skin load) 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1645805568 INFO: Loading skin file: VideoOSDSettings.xml 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1645789184 DEBUG: Load VideoOSDSettings.xml: 9.19ms 10:11:16 T:3076 M:1645715456 DEBUG: Alloc resources: 0.80ms (0.00 ms skin load) 10:11:20 T:3076 M:1622286336 DEBUG: WinEventsWin32.cpp: APPCOMMAND 13 - tiben20 - 2009-12-20 tonyt Wrote:Hi, new to the forums, and pretty new to xbmc at least put the full debug log would help a lot For the refresh rate its kinda complex there a lot of xbmc settings like auto refresh rate that are related to dvdplayer kinda hard to fix this problem - christoofar - 2009-12-20 christoofar Wrote:I seem to have a new problem, XBMC crashing while playing music in party mode. Any clues in my log as to what might causing using Party Mode to crash XBMC? I can play individual albums without issue, but trying to do any shuffling via Party Mode (my preffered way to enjoy music these days) results in elcrasho. Also noticed that EVERYTHING coming thru XBMC to my receiver put the surround led on, even two track stereo music. I used to like using DPL II for music, but now I can't. If I engage it now it really messes up the audio quality. Haven't tested this in the RC1 build, as I am hoping there's a solution, since the DSPlayer is such a great addition to keep. - hades_2100 - 2009-12-20 christoofar Wrote:Also noticed that EVERYTHING coming thru XBMC to my receiver put the surround led on, even two track stereo music. Do you mean if you play a stereo video or audio, the receiver thinks it getting an audio signal on all channels? I have this problem and couldn't figure out how to get rid of it so my receiver could upmix it to 5.1 channels. hades |
