Hi everyone,

I was trying to run ez script on a Acer cxi2. Removed write protect screw. Got into developer mode. Got to ez script screen. Selected standalone. It started the process and now I'm not sure where it failed. Now I can only get to UEFI shell. It says press escape in 1 second to skip startup.nsh, any other key to continue.

nothing failed, that's the expected outcome when booting and no UEFI OS is installed and no bootable USB. Attach a USB with the OS you want to install and reboot, it will boot automatically.

Thank you for such a fast reply! So in my case I would have to download http://releases.libreelec.tv/LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Linux-64bit.bin and have the USB boot first?

that link is to the USB/SD Creator _Application_ which downloads and writes the LibreELEC install image to USB properly. You download the one appropriate for whatever OS you're using to create the install USB. There are full instruction and a video even on the LibreELEC site.

After creating the install media, attach and it will boot by default. Follow the install process and remove the install media/reboot when done as per the on-screen instructions

Hello thanks for the script. I did something wrong to my ASUS chrome box as well. I ran the script to update the firmware and pressed 6 and rebooted. Now nothing appears on the screen it is just black any suggestions? I was previously using a stand alone setup.

which firmware type did you have before, legacy (SeaBIOS) or UEFI? If legacy and you updated to UEFI, the box isn't going to boot until you install a UEFI-capable OS.

I had legacy firmware before. I am trying to boot to usb to install a new OS. I am only seeing a blank black screen. Thank you so much for your help Matt.

computer monitor or TV display? what connection type? If using the DisplayPort output (with or w/o an adapter) try using HDMI output instead

It is hooked up to a computer monitor but using the the Display port output I will try using straight HDMI no adapter and report back.

After trying using HDMI out still nothing appears on the screen.

assume you've tried disconnecting power for 30s or so? These boxes are really hard to brick, esp when the verification passes, but it's possible that's what happened here and you were just very unlucky

Hi ,
On my Chromebox ( PANTHER F51), I followed all the instruction and ran the Kodi E-Z Setup script to install Dual Boot ChromeOS + LibreELEC but unfortunately without verifying the installation i changed the boot option to 0 sec wait to boot to the new installation.
Now on booting the LibELEC image goes to a black screen and I am not able to re-run the script because Ctrl+Alt+F2 to log into the terminal doesn't work for me - maybe because boot is happening too fast .

Can you please suggest a solution?

just boot ChromeOS via CTRL+D before the 1s timeout on the Developer Mode boot screen, then re+run through script to complete the dual boot setup
