RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - movie78 - 2016-11-26 (2016-11-26, 18:29)hdmkv Wrote: You need to choose 'Show simplified menu', which gives you the 'Play with 3d mode' option... That's is one of complaint about the Zidoo media player, with the Himedia once the wrapper is installed every file plays with the Himedia player. They need to fix that because the Zidooplayer is much better the internal player. @mirror88 can you add these features to next build. RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - hdmkv - 2016-11-26 Agree... but, you'll like Zidoo's wrapper better . HDR and 3D look much better than the Himedia. RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - opeters - 2016-11-26 Hi Guys, I flashed the X8 from 1.2.6 to 1.2.7. and lost CEC functions. I also have issues with DTSHD audo (Intermediate audio Clipping/Sissing), I like to bring the unit back to version 1.2.6.but can't find the image. Can somebody point me to the correct 1.2.6. image for the X8? RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - OlivierQC - 2016-11-26 hello opeters, here is the link : http://ota-cloudfront.zidoo.tv/X8/img/v1.2.6/v1.2.6_img.zip RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - nikos_a - 2016-11-27 Posted in Zidoo forum bit better post it here too. 1.2.7 has a new issue with ZDMC with no external player on. Last week I used it with f/w 1.2.6 to play 2 MKVs with DTS-HD and they both played fine, audio in sync. With 1.2.7, the audio is out of sync and way ahead of the video. Seems that out of sync audio was fixed in external player and went completely out of sync with ZDMC (I repeat with NO external player on). RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - abraxas222 - 2016-11-27 Videooutput Hi guys, Playing 4 k movies correctly I need an videooutput such as 23,976 10 bit 4:2:0 like on UHD discs. My new epson 6040 receives the 4k resolution with only 8 bit but 4:4:4 and shows HDR on . I read HDR is only Working with 10 or 12 bit. In zidoo settings I set hdmi on auto and deep color on Auto or 10 bit, doesnt effect the output. The epson only allows 10 bit 4:2:0 on 4k movies up to 30 khz, Any suggestion. Thanks RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - laola - 2016-11-27 (2016-11-26, 17:48)hdmkv Wrote: Why are you wanting to use this wrapper method vs. ZDMC w/external player option (which is much easier)? For using Kodi 17? yes - this is the reason (mySQL is based on Kodi V17 - so I can't (and I don't want) use ZDMC RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - laola - 2016-11-27 can somebody comment on the HDMI input ? I can't get this running but I am not sure whether I am the problem or the Zidoo player is the problem ? I know, HDPC protected content wouldn't be shown - but a normal windows screen should be shown without an issue, shouldn't it ? EDIT: now it works - at least somehow...(when booting Windows and HDMI input @Ziddo box already enabled RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - DaMacFunkin - 2016-11-27 (2016-11-27, 10:05)abraxas222 Wrote: VideooutputNo device can output 4K24hz 10bit 4:2:0 it isn't in the HDMI 2.0 specification. RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - abraxas222 - 2016-11-27 Sorry meant 10 bit and 4:2:2 and thats in the 2.0 specification But get 8 bit 4:4:4 Anybody? RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - DaMacFunkin - 2016-11-27 (2016-11-27, 22:31)abraxas222 Wrote: Sorry meant 10 bit and 4:2:2 and thats in the 2.0 specification 4K@24,25,30hz 10bit is only supported at 4:4:4 in the HDMI 2.0 specification, this is why you are getting knocked back down to 8bit. If the Epson can't receive 4k@24hz 10bit 4:4:4 then you will have to upscale to 12bit 4:2:2, if the Epson can't take 12bit then you will need an Integral HD Fury i believe. There is another HDMI 2.0. graph that people quote that is confusing, this is not confusing, those are the supported formats. RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - DaMacFunkin - 2016-11-28 Added to this @abraxas222 I have re read your first post and the Zidoo does not output 2160 if the HDMI is set to auto, it will only output 1080, you need to set the output to 3840x2160@60hz till Zidoo can be bothered implementing Auto Resolution switching. RE: Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - nikos_a - 2016-11-28 Found another problem with ZDMC. This is WITHOUT the external player used so the playback is handled entirely from ZDMC. So far, it makes them two and I am summing up here: a) (originally reported in post 831). With 1.2.7, DTS-HD audio is out of sync and way ahead of the video. Seems that out of sync audio was fixed in external player and went completely out of sync with ZDMC. Tested with Remux MKV, DTS-HD, playback through my PC using Samba, b) I watched a show that is 60fps. The file is simple 720p mp4 with aac audio, nothing special. There is huge number of frames dropping making this unwatchable. Last week, I watched it with 1.2.6 and the playback was smooth, with 1.2.7 it is unwatchable. I uploaded a sample here. This is again playing through ZDMC, no external player, Samba share in my PC. Last week it was playing smoothly with 1.2.6. One comment I would like to make in general with Zidoo player is that the font is not good. Looks a bit old fashioned. This is the way I use the ZDMC without external player for files it can handle. The font in ZDMC/Kodi is a lot better. Please, if you can, change the font to something modern. The one currently used looks like it is from a typewriter. Zidoo X9S & X8 (4K / HDR / 3D / HD Audio): Review & User Impressions - opeters - 2016-11-28 Did you switch to expert mode in KODI alias ZBMC? Switch on send to external player if you need 3D.
