They're 4K video card caps of UHD BD's. Haven't bothered w/any, but I'm reading PQ is dark, grainy and HDR and BT2020 are applied while capping. For best quality, might as well invest in a UHD BD player at this point.

I find it playing better when you play straight off explorer/native player or media center whatever it is called. (1080i series with mkv container)

One more bug - the display setting is set bacl to 720p after shuted down the device - sometimes also while just being switched on...
Did you mux the Atmos audio from the blu ray yourself? both the HDR version and the normal 4K version of this on usenet only have DTS-HD? I only ask because if you are submitting it as a bug they need the correct information.
The simple fix for this, and it has been posted many times is to change output to 4:2:2 instead of Auto or 4:4:4.
I have to agree mine has started up in 720p a few times since 1.27, i think they tried to fix a bug in 1.26 where the box would not sync with the TV on start up and leaving people having to reset.

Thanks - didn't notice that - now the sound is working :-)

not 4K which considering the problems i am having just as well.

Sorry if the above is in the wrong section please move if necessary but i am very frustrated.
Do you use the Ethernet or the wifi?
Do you mounted the antennas?
Do you use ZDMC setting to external player or use kodi + wrapper?
Could you make a log file to us?

I had a similiar problem. After i make a clear flash with image to 1.2.3 and update to 1.2.7 with ota file. It seems to work now.

only use the ZDMC do not even no what kodi+wrapper is.

We found a Permission issue in the log file.Could you tell us what about your settings in synology NAS? We have two synology devices.But there are not any problem.Anywhere,We will keep to check it.

I have read/write permission enabled, tried under an admin account and guest account with no change, i have another media player and experience no problems with permissions. Strange

On the weekend i watched a bunch of movies on the zidoo, especially in 3D!

Now with a film such as Tarzan 3D (i think it was with Atmos too in MVC 3d ISO format), i had absolutely no issues and the experience was perfect, no judders, stuttering, sound breaking or lip sync issue. 3d was really good too!

Finding Nemo 3D (H-SBS), again no problems whatsoever.

However, when we watched Zootopia 3D (MVC 3d ISO) with the DTS-HD track, it caused nothing but problems with the sound. The sound constantly broke up, resulting in many moments of silence! I thought that maybe its the film is having trouble streaming from the Synology Nas server, so i tried pausing it for a long time and then playing again, that did not help at all. Unfortunately, it seemed like it was the player and it was for whatever reason unable to cope with it Sad

Also i mentioned here many times before about the external Subtitle problems, however watching 3D with the external subs was no problem at all, yes there was still a few characters over lapped with each other and yes the subtitle font was ugly and in low resolution with jaggy edges, but it was just about acceptable and not too bad as i had said earlier! Hopefully though they will improve this permanently and soon.

As for the device, its still bugged with problems so I'm still unsure whether to keep it to not, particularly for playing 3D files. I still have a few weeks to device i guess.

This problem with constant cuts in the sound happens to many people from what I read. It happened to me in two movies I watched during the weekend. One had TrueHD, the other DTS-HD. I was streaming from a WD My Cloud using Samba and also from Windows Shares (also Samba) on my PC. Both occurred using Media Center (f/w 1.2.7).

Also, can someone tell me about the leds in the network? My Mede8er's leds are left (as you see from behind) Green and right is amber (flashing). In Zidoo, I see left (orange) and from a brief search, amber indicates 100mbps. Can anyone from Zidoo let is know what network leds in x9s mean?

Sorry to but in, but I am thinking of changing from Mede8er 600 and was wondering how the Zidoo compares, the problems with HD sound are a worry for me.

HI,We have found the problem of your configure, and we will fix this bug in V1.2.8.
currently,You can make the share name without space,It will be work fine.

How are you ripping this movies ? they are blu-ray ? 1080p or 4K

real or fake 4k
It is not real 4K in any material way due to having a final master at 2K. Studios have upscaled the 2K image to 4K and retouched the content for your 4K UHD TV. You should see some visual improvement over a standard 1080p Blu-ray.

For starters the picture seldom looks truly 4K in resolution. Many shots, especially those featuring a large depth of field and/or heavy amounts of CGI, look barely HD, never mind UHD. The film’s inconsistency where sharpness is concerned is a constant distraction, too, as well as leaving you feeling routinely disappointed that you’re not getting a true 4K experience.

I would't bother for this title to look at 4k bluray, let alone for some recoding which will look worse that bluray or a remux.

Anyone having problems with HDMI CEC? Apperently when Zidoo X9S connects directly to my Panasonic TV (TX-55CX700B) CEC is working correctly (turning on TV, turns on Zidoo, and turning off TV turns off Zidoo), but after I connect it through my Denon AVR-X1300 (supports CEC, and I turned it on) CEC isn't working Sad
I really don't know if this is a problem with AVR, Zidoo or TV, does anyone with similar setup has this kind of problems?
