Videos - can't see my external USB HDD - JoergGaBo - 2011-05-14

Hello,

wen chosing Music from within xbmc I see my external USB HDD in the list of sources and can play music fine. In Movies -> Files I can't see my drive?

How can I add my drive to that list? Any chance it'll be added automatically once I attach an USB drive?

thanks & cu
Joerg

You need to add the movie's folder on your drive to the source list in xbmc. If your struggling setting up then this guide is simple and has plenty of illustrations:

That doesn't really help as it skips through the add sources bit.

I can't find my USB Hard drive in add sources unless I click the SMB one and then it won't even let me select which folders I want to add. It just adds everything as one so I can differentiate my movies and tv programs.

If someone could help I'd be very grateful.

A USB drive should actually auto-mount in XBMC under Files. See if you can get us a debug log (wiki).

I found it eventually. It was accessed through the Media folder.
