Safe to update AppleTV firmware from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2? - MartyNg - 2011-07-04
When trying to start a NetFlix stream over the past few days, I get an error code 111. A lot of people indicated that updating to AppleTV 4.2.2 solves the problem. I have the original XBMC 10.0 installed. Is it safe to update the AppleTV software at this point? I remember that when 4.2.2 first came out, everyone was talking about things in XBMC breaking, but now I can't seem to find the posts!

No issues here. I'm on the latest ATV2 iOS and the latest official build.

I was in 4.1.1 and youtube stopped working for me. I updated to 4.2.2 and its all fine now.

It's probably worth the upgrade since there's quite a few changes from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2 (includes 4.2 and 4.2.1 and 4.2.2 features from the URL below).

Cool. I went ahead and updated by Jailbreaking with Seas0n pass, then reinstalled XBMC - I think it was 10.0.9. Works okay so far!
