[LIVE] Proposed Build - Issues? - VTHTPC - 2011-07-17 Hey all! Been monkeying around with XBMC on my comp, I do like it. I think it'll pass the WAF (Wife Approval Factor) for ease of use when I'm not around. Here's my proposed build - trying to hit the $200 mark. BIOSTAR A770E3 AM3 AMD 770 ATX Athlon X2 250 (the above 2 are in a combo deal for $100) 1 GB Kingston DDR3 1066 Palit NEAG2100HD53-2187F GeForce 210 512MB Cooler Master 360 Elite w/350watt power supply Logitech Harmony 650 remote. I have a 2x2TB drives lying around I'm going to use for storage for local playback. I know the case only has 1 3.5" bay - if I need the 2nd one, I can always buy a sled adapter. My movies are all ripped to m4v (SD) or mp4 (HD) via Handbrake. My TV shows are all in ISO format. I am out of HDMI inputs on my TV. I have an LG BD550, a Dish DVR 622, and a iPhone all hooked via HDMI (the iPhone is used for Netflix & HBO Go, since it's the only unlimited data I have - I'm somewhat off the grid). I plan on using a DVI to component adapter for video and 1/8" to RCA adapter for audio. Any problems that could occur that I'm not thinking of? - eskro - 2011-07-17 i'd stick with HDMI,,,, just get HDMI Switch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018DQYQ2/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=1278548962&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003SJNPH0&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=10A3V6MBSTCV49KETK6H - poofyhairguy - 2011-07-18 I 100% agree. Otherwise it can't have a high WAF, DVI to component is terrible. Here is one I have that works 100% with Harmonies: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882754017&cm_re=hdmi_switch-_-82-754-017-_-Product |
