Need help updating AMD/ATI drivers - blank screen on Live CD - raiderj - 2011-07-26
I believe I've narrowed the problem down to a driver issue. I'm currently using a Dell desktop (Athlon X2) to boot the 10.1 Live CD, with a PCIe ATI 4350 for the GPU.
When I boot the 10.1 or 9.11 Live CD, all seems to go well, but when it's done I get nothing but a blank screen. HDMI and VGA show the same problem. However, removing the GPU and booting off the onboard VGA works just fine.
So, how do I go about logging in to the system remotely and updating the drivers? Does that sound like how to fix my issue? I'm assuming SSH is available over port 22.

I'm able to SSH in to the system, but what commands to I need in order to run a driver update? I've tried the ones listed in the wiki, but they didn't complete successfully for me.
Any ideas?
