Yeah, that right. What i was wondering was if a pull request was ever made when dsplayer was originally under development.

Cheers

Call me a development noob, as I've not been involved in this side of things much, the closest I've ever come was writer/development on a mod/game project, but what does this mean for us?

Does it mean DSPlayer is being reconsidered to be adopted back into Win builds of XBMC officially? Sorry I can't read the page very well as it glitches on my old work browser Smile

***
Have also switched back from Mediaportal to DSPlayer/XBMC as of the 25th December build, so if I find more files with subtitle glitches, will let you know! I can confirm the other sample is now working fine, and also audio switching is working fine so I'm very happy Big Grin
Mediaportal just felt bloated by comparison!

It`s a pull request to merge DSPlayer in the master branch (not for Eden, since it`s in feature freeze/beta already, but for the following version, Frodo)

- alexrose1uk - 2011-12-28

Oooh, now that's a bit of an about-face-turn, given the previous decision about DSPlayer at the dev conference earlier in the year!

It could be that there is a growing number of users who do not want media capabilities help back b/c b/c of other operating systems. For example 10bit support being delayed due to it not working in ffmpeg for ios (really something new not working on a mac who could have seen that coming).

In addition large steps have been made to allow xbmc to support binary addons and that now puts something like dsplayer back on the block for official builds.

If I might ask a couple of dumb questions.

1. I see an XBMC how-to about setting up XBMC with DSPlayer that includes editing a pile of XML files, does the version linked here still require that or is it pretty much a ready to go build?

2. I rely on the XBMC feature "adjust refresh rate to match source" to re-clock my Intel i3-2100 iGPU to 23.976 so that I can watch my BD rips without frame drops. This works fine in standard XBMC builds, does this feature work properly with the DSPlayer build?

Thanks!

Hi Tiben,
i know you have a lot to do, but maybe you can have a look at that two files.
and maybe you have a tip for me.
Thanks a lot

  1. It will work 'out of the box' with one proviso - the existence of ffdshow, for audio playback, You will need to download and install it. Playback of mkv's and other file types is et-up through the mpc-hc stand alone filter (which is included in the download). If you want to change the filters used for playback is when you have to begin editing those files.

  2. Yes. In fact with the exception of an external player it is the only way I can achieve perfectly audio/synched playback at that speed - native builds introdice a delay of around 200-300 ms.

Can someone help I installed everything and audio on receiver is showing DTS-MSTR however the video is really choppy I have tried several of settings within the XBMC dash but havent been successful. I am running a AMD Zacate 1920x 1080x 24P with the LAV Filters. If I install regular XBMC 10.1 I have no issues with video. Thanks for the help

- alexrose1uk - 2011-12-29

I think it's quite possibly one of two things:
-LAV is probably using the CPU to decode, try leaving the filter settings the same except changing the video decoder back to MPC-HC and see if that helps.

-I encountered a bug with DTS files whereby they'd be detected/played back at 20FPS. This of course caused massive issues with the sound dropping out and the picture stuttering. It turned out this was caused by a directshow filter conflict, even though DSPlayer was only configured to use one lot. Resetting the filters on my copy of Windows resolved this.

As Zacate isn't that meaty in the CPU department, my first suspicion would be prospect A being the issue, however I mention prospect 2 just because it took me some time to figure out, and was only happening with DTS tracks also.

No real help to you mate other than I confirm the behaviour you see - no playback on the most current build. I even tried amending the filter configurations with various filter settings, but no joy I'm afraid.

I'm sure Tiben will have a look - just be patient - I'm sure that all the time spent converting won't be in vain.

Hurra i'm visible and i'm not alone.
Thanks a lot Steelman - cause now i know i'm not foolish( i knew it before, but
here in that board you can get a very lousy feeling)
Ok - last working version of dsplayer was in december or january 2010/2011
the last version before 33619 if i remind well.
Thinking back a few years, coding with Pascal and delphi i guesss if there is
a thing like:
if there is video - then open file
else do nothing.
All other mediaplayers (incl.PowerDVD or TMT, VLC or MPC-HC don't care about that and are playing in the right configuration (bistreaming to the receiver over
HDMI) DTS-HD in m2ts containers very fine.
Again greetings to steelman -you gave me back new hope - cause i really like xbmc amd with no other player you have such comfort.
Maybe tiben looks now over the two files and i would be very happy.
Greetings to all (last time i will write:excuse my bad english)
mike

I'm having problems activating shaders for low resolutions. By reading the wiki, I'd like to have shader "sharpen complex 2" activating only for resolutions below 720p. How do I do that? Any working example? Thanks in advance!

Hello,

is it possible to set subtitles relative to video frame. If it is, how?

Thnx.

Great job, BTW, exactly what I needed. Using it with reclock, and can fastforward, unlike in mediaportal.

subtitles are always time based the only thing you can do is make them spawn later or earlier
