I think we may have to lend a hand to help get Tiben's home theater finished.

...personally, I think it *IS* finished, and that's why we don't see him around here anymore...

I was going to export my library and I realized to my surprise (Smile) there's a DSPlayer menu under settings :o
I changed Audio Renderer to: Realtek HDMI Output (2-ATI HDMI) and now I'm able to use DSPlayer only for my mkvs encoded with TrueHD.
PCM and DTS-HD I get no sound.
I now know LAV is not the problem because I tried with the filters ffd audio, ffd video and haali splitter and I have the same issue. Actually using the LAV filters and trying to play a DTS-HD mkv I see the display on my AVR keeps flickering between Stereo and DTS-HD and I have no sound.

So what do you guys have your Audio Renderer as in the DSPlayer menu?
It's got to be my problem...:confused2:

dlmh Wrote:You should use the renderer that has "Directsound: [xxxx]" prefixed.
When I try Directsound:Realtek HDMI Output (2-ATI HDMI), neither PCM, TrueHD or DTS-HD work, the screen just flickers for a sec and nada.
Only Realtek HDMI Output (2-ATI HDMI) gives me sound for TrueHD.

dlmh Wrote:Also, do you use the "native" AMD driver for your GPU or the "custom" drivers from Realtek?
Are you talking about under System Configuration/Audio Output in XBMC? If yes this is what I have:
Directsound:Realtek HDMI Output (2-ATI HDMI)

acemt Wrote:Quite a few reporting that the latest version crashes. I have NOT tried it because the one I am using works quite well, except that there is no resume for DSplayer. Anyone have a chance to sort out why it is crashing yet and provide a fix? 0wing? Thanks

Mark

I've not used the latest version from 0wing, however I did do the 2 patches he mentioned:

0wing Wrote:New build available: http://dsplayer.passion-xbmc.org

Includes two fixes by fezster:

-Resume bookmark wasn't saved with DSPlayer.
-Navigation sounds were not re-enabled after playback.

I've been using the prior version with these 2 patches without issue for a couple of weeks, so if you want to give this a try if you're having problems, then here it is:

Thanks Fezster,

I'll give it a shot and report back. Everything except the resume has been working great, so I'm a little reluctant to mess things up.

Does this have the command line included to make DSPlayer default, or will I have to save and copy that over?

Thanks

Mark

Thanks for all of your continued hard work on developing this awesome player. I have been using XBMC for a while and when I bought a new amp I wanted to get truehd and master audio, I therefore installed the dsplayer version and it was working fine, however I have a tendency to always want to update to the latest version when perhaps I should stick with one that works.
Anyway, my problem now is that occasionally master audio files will report as plain DTS on the receiver, the same file later on will correctly report? Also, sometimes XBMC is obviously trying to launch dvdplayer as i get some blue discs etc in the top left and then it crashes.
Dsplayer is set as default so why does it sometimes try to play with dvd player this causing a crash?
Also, TV shows no longer show up under the file system/on the iphone app - I have to go into the file structure and find the exact file?
Thanks

Just literally backup XBMC.exe in your install folder (c:\program files\xbmc ?? or wherever you installed XBMC DSPlayer) and then copy XBMC.exe into there. Aside from the 2 bugfixes above, nothing else is modified in this version from the version before last, and it has been working fine for me, as I said.

Thanks again. Will give it a go. Only other problem I have with DSPlayer is that when I try to scroll ahead in a movie, it starts over. Does your version fix this? That's now my biggest peeve.

Hi,will there be a release based on Eden Beta2?

- 0wing - 2012-02-02

0wing Wrote:The latest DSPlayer build is based on more recent code than Beta 2.

Also I have no idea what could be causing the crashing problem some users are experiencing.

I'll get a new build up tonight and we'll see if that solves it.

Not seen this Mark, but I'd suspect a codec problem. What type of movie is it (or if all, what types of movies have you tried) and which filters are you using ?

All .mkv's. Does it with every one of them. With DVDplayer I can use the slider to go to any point in the movie (Ipad). With DSPlayer, it just restarts the movie.Using FFDshow only. Never could get LAv to work properly...

Just a plain boring merge Smile

Which mkv splitter are you using ? Probably worth posting your mediasconfig.xml. Have you ever installed haali or matroska splitter (or another codec pack) - Im wondering if the splitter you are using or have registered is causing this.
