+1 on that - good luck Tiben.

RE: DSPlayer (DirectShow Player for XBMC) Eden build available - Roman_V_M - 2012-05-17

OK, hope this time I haven't forgotten anything. So here's the installer for XBMC DSplayer updated by Eduard_K: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24356082/XBMCSetup-20120519-dx.exe
Just to be clear, the build is based on this code: https://github.com/0wing/xbmc
with these patches:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24356082/0001.patch
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24356082/0002-fix-crash-get-chapter-name.patch
Main improvements:
- Fixed FF/RW and mouse-click on a progress bar navigation.
- More reliable filter graph building - means that the risk of DSplayer refusing to play certain files without any obvious reason is significantly reduced.
- Ability to enable DSPlayer via GUI.
- Ability to use default system DirectShow merits.
- BluRay titles support (only with AVSplitter installed as a system default DS splitter) - resume may be buggy due to menus conflict.

This is a differential code patch for developers/binary build creators. It can be applied to source code by source code maintaining tools like Tortoise Git for Windows.
If you do not know what it means, then you don't need it.Smile Simply download and install the compiled .exe build above.

PS. I'm not a big expert too.Smile All I can is compiling a binary build from somebody else's code.

RE: DSPlayer (DirectShow Player for XBMC) Eden build available - SALAMINOMACHOS - 2012-05-18

OK I Understood and i thank you
i've downloaded the .dx and runs very smooth
The only problem i face, is that it does not keep the external srt subtitles.
I am Greek and it shows me only English subtitles
How can i have always the Greek Subtitles?
Running the XBMC\ DVD Player i do not have any problem.
But with the DSPlayer the problem remains .........

Ths for your attention ...

I should have noted that I'm not a developer so it is no use to ask me support questions. All I wanted is to provide information to the community that XBMC DSplayer is not that dead.Smile

So I can only guess that DSPlayer does not remember selected subtitle stream, unlike DVDplayer.

RE: DSPlayer (DirectShow Player for XBMC) Eden build available - SALAMINOMACHOS - 2012-05-18

Yes, it does not remember
Anyway i thank you for your attention

Thanks Roman for providing this info. I have been holding off messing with my build of DSPlayer for now, but this is an interesting development. I will wait to see if this source of yours has any further updates, or if I decide to throw in the towel and just switch to audio engine an forgo the slightly better video quality (Damn!)

Maybe I need to learn to read RussianHuh

Mark

P.S. Thanks Tiben for all your work, you will be missed

HERE's a web translation.......

DSPlayer support of acceleration GPU
Всвязи with that that developers have curtailed works on DSPlayer and were accepted to new hand-made article DSCodec (that to mine very silly because personally for me the old project more flexible in options) special development won't be now, only updating of assemblages under new СВН оффициальной branches.
So.
DSPlayer it is a new (old) player which does possible use dxva in xbmc with use of foreign decoders.
Acceleration GPU works now not only on windows xp, and and on win vista and 7 and on them even it is more better.
The player now supports following kinds of containers avi, flv, mp4, mov, m4v, m2v, ts, mpeg, mpg, m2ts, mkv, wmv.
For its use as by default it is necessary to add a player next lines in a file Advancedsettings.xml.
<advancedsettings>
<video>
<defaultplayer> dsplayer </defaultplayer>
</video>
</advancedsettings>
Adjustment of filters is made in a file
system\players\dsplayer\dsfilterconfig.xml

DXVA 1.0 works on Windows xp and vmr9 renderer
DXVA 2.0 works on Windows vista and 7 under evr renderer.

How to use DSPlayer th in the original http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO:_Using_DSPlayer

Updatings of assemblages:
2011-08-21 http://depositfiles.com/files/phxc7ef2u
2011-08-30 http://depositfiles.com/files/rdestcstv
2011-09-02 http://depositfiles.com/files/srio6p4z5 (DVDPlayer with DXVA2 is now working thanks to tiben20!)
2011-10-16 http://depositfiles.com/files/73sj5rydd (Merzh with last trunk of the basic branch)

ATTENTION!!! Last versions don't work in ХР. The error of library of a kernel falls out. It is connected with inclusion in a kernel of function of hardware acceleration DXVA2.
To whom it is necessary ХР select or it is simple DX the Boxing version from here http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/win32/, or last офф. Version DSPlayer from here http://dsplayer.passion-xbmc.org/Dsplayer/

I don't know. Speaking an extra language is always a bonus.Smile In fact, that is a general topic for XBMC DSplayer in the Russian forum, but on the last several pages Eduard_K posted the result of his (?) tinkering with 0wing's code. I'll also wait for further developments and post info here if Eduard_K releases any other updates.

So far I like this new build. Previously I had problems with some files when DSplayer wasn't able to build a filter graph to play them for no obvious reason, but now it seems to have gone. Of course, this needs more extensive testing. As Eduard_K said there might still be issues.

Does anyone know how to add SopFilter to DSPlayer mediasconfig.xml and filtersconfig.xml

I've got DSPlayer running exactly how I want it at the moment and dont want to mess it up

RE: DSPlayer (DirectShow Player for XBMC) Eden build available - Roman_V_M - 2012-05-19

I guess, it can be done the same way as with other DS filters. You'll need a filter ID (a long hex string). If you don't know it, you can find it with GraphStudio — Ctrl+F > choose the necessary filter and copy-paste its CLSID into filtersconfig.xml:

Code:
<filter name="sopfilter" type="videodec">
   <guid>{bla-bla-bla-bla}</guid>
   <osdname>SopFilter</osdname>
</filter>

Though DSplayer, even with the recent code patch from Eduard_K, can still be picky with DS filters sometimes and may refuse to use a particular filter.

As for mediaconfig, I don't know what you are going to use it for.

I did not get the difference between this compilation and the one from post #1292. Please explain, Thanks

I've changed the links in #1292 - the 2-nd patch includes an important fix. Anyway, Eduard_K released more updates:
Code patches: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24356082/DSplayer.patches.zip
Main changes: added correct resume with multi-title Blu-Ray and MKV.
I'm gonna post a compiled installer later.
