RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - p4trykx - 2013-05-03

If you double click on the player it goes fullscreen.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - locoguano - 2013-05-03

For me, using Win7 and Chrome, I changed the playercorefactory to
Code:
<filename>C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe</filename>
    <args>--kiosk</args>

Same white bars on the side as with Firefox, so its the amazon site/player, not the browser.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - locoguano - 2013-05-03

Is there a way to get the library exports from this addon to update on a timer like hulu does with the hulu library auto update addon?

If you use firefox you can right click on the bars and go to inspect element. Then if you go to the Style Editor and delete the information in the first style the white bars dissapear. Would be great if there was a way to automate this, but if not i am still fine with just double clicking the video to go fullscreen.

No different from XBMC Flicks... You have to hit the fullscreen button on that one as well. No bars though.

It should automatically take you to a video instead of the amazon page of the video. For some reason they didnt include a fullscreen button on this page though so you can either hit F11 to make your browser fullscreen or alternatively i made it so if you create a profile named "amazon" and install the r-kiosk addon to firefox on the that profile it will automatically start in fullscreen.

This would be almost perfect except that the page it uses http://www.amazon.com/gp/video/streaming/mini-mode.html?asin= has small white borders along the sides which is annoying to me, but maybe some people dont mind.

If you want to test and see if this player works for you without installing my mod just place the appropriate video code found in the page url after "asin=".

example

http://www.amazon.com/The-Hunger-Games/dp/B008602KQI/

changes to

http://www.amazon.com/gp/video/streaming/mini-mode.html?asin=B008602KQI

Here is a short video of how it looks when its all working.

Very cool idea! I'll experiment with it. Just trying the links, it wouldn't let me fullscreen it fast enough to keep it from doing the lower-resolution mode that's causing my choppy video problem. I'll keep experimenting... Thanks for the workaround!

It will wok fine on any OS, all you need to do is change this line in playercorefactory.xml

<filename>/usr/bin/firefox</filename>

to point to your browser location. There are instructions in the download.

Scroll up to my post and you will see what I changed to make it run with Chrome in Win 7.

I have gotten this fix working flawlessly now on my system, the borders are removed and video opens straight to fullscreen. I have also created installers to make it easy for anyone to get this working on their system. I started a new thread for it here

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - mikefreeman - 2013-05-07

Nice job! It even solves my problem with fullscreen mode going to a low resolution and being unusably choppy.

Now... It's still mildly choppy, enough to be annoying. Does anyone know how to make Flash work well on AMD hardware so I can actually use this solution? No matter what I do, the video runs choppy and has loads of tearing with even mild on-screen motion. I've got the latest AMD drivers, the latest Flash that works with both Linux and Amazon, and have my graphics card settings set to "tear-free", with everything else at the best performance (instead of best quality) level. I know it's just that Flash is implemented badly on Linux. But if there is anything I hadn't thought of, I'll happily try it. Native XBMC video generally runs flawlessly with these settings.

AMD video cards are not well supported on linux in general. There is no hardware acceleration in flash with amd cards, only nvidia with the libvdpau library so this might be your problem, i think that your cpu is doing most if not all of the processing for the video.

For on my low end machine it actually played better when i double clicked on the video to make it go to real flash fullscreen, which sounds like the opposite of what your experiencing, This might again be something to do with nvidia vs amd support.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - locoguano - 2013-05-10

Anyone heard from Bluecop? I know he was moving but I still hope he will swoop in to save the day.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - cmon-azon - 2013-05-10

Prime Plugin was the best so a big thank you to Bluecop but does anyone out there have any ideas on a workaround solution for Raspbmc. I'm a linux newb but im not sure opening a browser will work on this hardware. If anybody has it working in Raspbmc I'd like to hear from them any help would be greatly appreciated.
