Not sure what's going on but i had to delete my guisetings.xml just to get it running,
But now when ever i start XBMC all i get is the spinning animation and the home screen never shows.
For now am going back to the previous version and hope you can resolve these problems.
Ps. would a debug log help at all
Have just had a quick look at the log and found this
19:59:52 T:5232 WARNING: Skin has invalid include: FullScreenDimensions
19:59:53 T:5232 NOTICE: initialize done
19:59:53 T:5232 NOTICE: Running the application...
19:59:53 T:5232 ERROR: Python script "script.viewmodes" does not exist
19:59:53 T:5232 ERROR: Python script "script.playerevents" does not exist
19:59:53 T:5232 ERROR: Python script "script.randomitems" does not exist
19:59:53 T:5232 ERROR: Python script "script.watchlist" does not exist
And i cant find any of these scripts anywhere on my system......

This is the home screen I've been waiting for. Thanks Black!!!!!
For anyone with difficulties (as I was) in getting the home screen working more or less as planned don't forget:
1) Get the script.watchlist from gitub. Otherwise some panels might not work, furthermore it will take much longer to start.
2) Go to the skin setting and enable everything you can to download artwork. Otherwise one may not get banner in the TV Shows (I didn't)
3) Get the global search script from gitub. Otherwise the search will not work
I can't figure out how to get rotating backgrounds in the home screen (Multi-Image?) as I saw in the presentation. I go to the Skin, Background section, choose global, but both Video Fanart and Music Fanart are disabled. I can only check Single Image and Multi image for specific folders.
Can anyone help?

Mate, you have to install them or just download an actual skin like aeon nox and they'll be imported.
Reguarding player events and viewmods have to be in black's repo.
