I am controlling XBMC with it? I have actually added a keyboard just for the music OSD, though haven't tested that works yet, but not sure what features I can use with an MCE Keyboard device that I cant use with an MCE remote device? *edit* in case there is any confusion, where it says device Media Centre PC, that is an MCE remote device that uses standard MCE remote commands which XBMC live and openelec seem to support perfectly out of the box. - eskro - 2011-10-24 http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=112646 - Kode - 2011-10-24 I don't think the IR receiver recognises a keyboard device - EndiSky - 2011-10-24 What IR receiver are you using? The most common receiver for the ideal Harmony set up is the HP receiver. Keep in mind that with the Harmony software you will need to add BOTH the media center MCE device AND the media center keyboard as DEVICES. Once that is done, you can customize keys. - eskro - 2011-10-24 a Microsoft branded MCE IR receiver that registers as a eHome driver in device manager will work for sure with an HARMOMY remote emulating a MCE KEYBOARD just try it! using harmony software, add this as device MICROSOFT MCE KEYBOARD once done, edit the buttons, you should be able to choose keyboard letters - Kode - 2011-10-24 EndiSky Wrote:What IR receiver are you using? The most common receiver for the ideal Harmony set up is the HP receiver. It's an original Microsoft branded IR Receiver. It has on it OVU400301/00 and Model 1040 if that is any help. I've been using harmony remotes for a while so I do know the difference between an activity and a device. I've tried going to devices and then the keyboard and clicking on things that show on the screen, I can see the receiver register the input but nothing happens. Is there something I can run to see if it's registering as a keyboard device? - Kode - 2011-10-24 Ok, I take that back, some of the buttons work, like menu *edit* so far it only seems to be the menu button, lol *edit2* Power turns it off, though pressing it again turns on the xbox 360 *edit3* MyVideos and MyPictures work *edit4* LiveTV work... I added it as an MCE keyboard, but it seems like only extra buttons seem to work, not actual keys - eskro - 2011-10-24 can u show me a screenshot of your IR receiver and also your harmony software mapping buttons - Kode - 2011-10-25 Receiver: Software - Kode - 2011-10-25 Software settings: There are 13 pages but i've just shown the first 6, hope that is ok - eskro - 2011-10-25 thanks, but, can you show me HARD BUTTONS also? for the MCE KEYBOARD plz? Here's what i have and do u have this in device manager? “Mircosoft eHome Infrared Transceiver” - Kode - 2011-10-25 Can do, but there are only like 13 hard buttons on the remote and I wasn't using any of them when testing |
