refresh upnp file listing and easy volume control - pegleg - 2011-12-08

Hi,

Is there a way to refresh the file listing of a upnp server without restarting xbmc? (atv2) I'm using TVersity on a Win7 box on my lan.

Can anyone point me to a simple solution for getting the up/down on the remote to control the volume? I found something about an xml file but it was too confusing for me to understand what was needed!

thanks alot, great software! been running this for years with a hacked original xbox, then on an htpc, and now this fantastic little box!

Volume control on atv2 isn't possible afaik ...

well, I'll live without the volume control.

anyone know how to refresh a upnp server file listing without starting/stopping XBMC?

bumping this.

uPnP server directory refreshes. Is it a control/function I'm missing somehow or is this a known bug. thanks!

OK, unknown.

Does anyone know of a way to access a remote directory on your lan and be able to refresh the file listing in XBMC on atv2 somehow after things are added?

Is there a method better than uPnP that I can use? I currently don't use any library or scraper functions as I download a show, watch it, and then later erase it. I can tell what it is by the filename and I won't likely watch it again, so it goes away. So no need for databases keeping track of temporary tv shows and shitty movies.

I want to be able to have my fileserver add files, and then see them show up in XBMC without having to menu menu menu menu menu menu menu hold..... then go back into XBMC, the video then back to the file. it's the fly in the ointment of an otherwise very pleasant experience, and the developers are thanked for the efforts!

thanks for any tips!

SMB, NFS, AFP, WebDAV, FTP, are all probably better than UPnP.

Just FYI, the uPnP directory refresh is working in the latest builds. uPnP out-performs SMB on my network so this is good news.

Now if we could have some volume control....

Allways something to talk about right?
